Yeah, but the ignorant panicked, I mean...really panicked. And if anything happens in 2012 and we're all wiped out..well, I had fun in life. Lol

I think personally,that the world and everything is unpredicatable.
I mean even if it would or does end in 2012....what are you gonna do? We all are gonna die some day anyways,you have to live with acceptance of it,like it or not.
As I read before in a book, "You can dance around the fire as much as you want but, eventually you're gonna get burned"
So whatever happens,happens.
I doubt it will end for years to come and if ever....but,I just really doubt we are the only planet with life and the greatest species ever......
so yahh,it probably is just a sun thing,nothing to worry about.
If the world was gonna end,wouldnt there already be drastic things happening to earth BESIDES global warming?
I'm pretty sure extreme climate change difference,animals dying of starvation,plants dying from a misuse of water supply, stuff like that would indicate it but it hasnt happened yet,so I think we all just need to keep an open mind and don't worry.

Thats all,and its not bad to wonder because you never know.
But,yes this whole thing is overrated.
we arent even close enough to predict this type of thing.

I'm not saying that nothing will happen, because honestly, I don't. I don't believe anything will happen, but in the back of my head, I've got to wonder, naturally. It was like Y2K, I was confident nothing would happen, but I was busy getting mentally ready for if anything actually did happen like it was said to go down.

It didn't change my lifestyle, and this whole 2012 thing won't either, but you may as well have stuff in place for if something does happen.

I also believe that this myth about 2012 originates from the movie "I Am Legend" where - in 2009 - there has been found a cure for cancer, and three years later - to the main character's knowledge - there is only one man left on Earth. Everyone else were affected by this mutated "cure" and either died or became canniballistic zombies. Even canines.

It's possible that's where some picked it up from. But Mayans predicted on their calender that the world would end in 2012, and with the way things are "declining" currently around the globe, they believe more highly in it. Lol

I also think it's ridiculous. There's been many dates that have been said to be the end of the world.

Several cases in point in the Common Era (AD):
666: was considered by many to be the year the world would end, due to the religious implications.
1000: first instance of Millennialism, again, religiously based. Widespread panic.
1666: see 666
1910: Halley's Comet passes by, came close to Earth, was predicted to strike plus religious theory
1914: Jehovah's Witnesses' first predicted end times
1982: planets align
1996: alien invasion/religious prophecy
1998: numerology end date
2000: Y2K plus Millennialism = widespread panic

And then you have the predictions of 2012 (Mayan calendar) and 2880 (asteroid strike).

I personally don't think that anything will happen. The Sun is more likely to go nova than anything. And scientists are saying that that will only happen billions and billions of years from now.

Though I gotta say, lookin' forward to 2012 - Centennial anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic - so perhaps there'll be some full-sized reconstructions like they were saying in the '90s.

As Alpine had said, the best we can do is live out our lives and be happy.
The end could come any day; before, after, or during 2012.
