Yes,I think you are right steet,Ive always thought Balto and Tramp look similar and most likley Balto was inspired by Lady and the Tramp.

Well maybe their looks are the stereotypical "wilder than a simple dog should be" and bit of an outcast.

Except them both being gray, physical appearances are compltely different IMO. Balto style animation is more realistic than the animation in the Lady and the Tramp. The plot has similarites but aren't alot of movies featuring a hero whos an outcast, goes on the journey and gets the girl? What your seeing is basic and widely used plot design. THey may have been influenced byt The lady and the Tramp, but Balto doesnt really look like Tramp to me, not at all. And Balto had alot more magic to me than the latter movie, just me saying. Actually after looking at a few pictures and comparing i noticed that Tramp does look kinda like Balto, marking wise, and the eybrows, but face shape, body shade, eye shape and color, ear shape, and nose shape are different.

Films are similar to others all the time! It's not that they're copying in most cases, it's just that it's a popular kind of tale I guess!
Oh, and to the Tramp thing ... I guess the eyes are similiar, but really it's so minor the look in my opinion!
