IE is GREAT browser and I've suffered no problems with it! It's cheaper is well! Only £50 every three months!
??? Since when do you have to pay for a browser? Mozilla Firefox is entirely free, and Internet explorer too. I think you're confusing the browser with the internet connection, that has nothing to do...You can use any browser you want with any internet connection. (except sometimes with AOL)

Could it be a server problem? Maybe the ping in the US is too high because of the busy server (I think it's in France, isn't it?). As far as I know, the problem is just in the US...
No, the server is in the US...Except the server that is used for the smileys. I don't think that the speed problems comes from that though.

does it reload the images every time you change the page?
Yes, it dose reload all the images every time I change the page.
Well well, the problem probably comes from that. Normally, when a page of the site has been loaded the first time you come on it, all the banners / menu / desktop images are saved on your hard drive (that's called the cache) and it should only load the images that are new.
You should try to see if it does that with other sites too, but that's anormal.

What does it do exactly? You say that it takes long to load, but does it display the whole page at once, or by little bits?
It would load the background, then it would wait to load the rest of the stuff then it will show it.
I really don't think this is the problem because it was like that before the update and it worked fine.
If you had Firefox, the site would be displayed more softly. Most of the time, there is no "blank" (as you described) with it.

Could you still try another browser (firefox) to see if it resolve the problem?
Nope, the only browser that I'm able to use is I.E. 6.0 (home computer) and I.E. 5.0 (school computers)
Then try to see if you've got the same problem at school if you can, or try to download another browser such as Firefox. (it's free, no risk)
