For example, he brought a total of 12 dogs (not 7) with him from Alaska to film the Balto's Race to Nome movie at Mt. Rainier Park. Their names are known. Kaasen had a total of 9 dogs with him during most of his nationwide tour. Their names are also known. Seven of these dogs ended up at the Brookside Zoo in Cleveland, Ohio in March, 1927. Their names were reported, but some of them were incorrect. It wasn't the fault of the newspapers or anyone else in Cleveland. Some of the original names had been distorted over time because the ownership of the dogs changed hands several times.
There are a number of photos of these dogs, taken at various times and places. Some are during Kaasen's nationwide tour. A couple are from the time when Sam Houston owned them.

That's true...there were twelve total dogs which came with Kaasen and his wife to the U.S. And were there during a good part of the vaudeville tour. I don't know that I ever said only seven dogs accompanied Kaasen from Alaska. I have mentioned many times through the years that the names of only seven are well-known, and that the other names have either been lost, or are not commonly known. As is the fate of those five other dogs. Once again, Sarah, I will ask: do you have information to the contrary? If you are going to imply it, list it. Give the information, and your resources.

JerseyCaptain wrote: "I don't know that I ever said only seven dogs accompanied Kaasen from Alaska." ------------------------------------------ I would refer you to a message you wrote in this very section of the forum, in which you said that "there were either twelve or thirteen dogs" on Gunnar Kaasen's serum run team, and that "it was probably thirteen." You go on to say that Balto and "six other members" of the team accompanied Kaasen to the Lower 48 after the serum run, and that "Five or six of the other members of the team remained in Nome."
In another section of this forum you wrote the following about Gunnar Kaasen's serum run dogs:
"Their names, at least those who were taken on the U.S. tour with Balto (five were not...there were twelve total team members...only seven made the U.S. tour), are: Sye, Fox, Old Moctoc, Tillie, Billy, and Alaska Slim"
This one should look familiar, too. This statement is written on your Balto's True Story website:
"Sol Lesser wanted to invite Gunnar Kaasen and Balto, and the team, to come down to the United States so that he could do a film about them. Seppala, eager to be rid of Balto, consented, and allowed Balto and six other members of Kaasen's thirteen member team (Fox, Billy, Sye, Tillie, Alaska Slim and Old Moctoc) to go."
JerseyCaptain wrote: "I will ask you: do you have information to the contrary? ----------------------------------------------- Yes I do, and quite a bit.
JerseyCaptain wrote: "Give the information, and your resources." ----------------------------------------------- Why? So you can attempt to humiliate me, or to try to degrade, diminish or dismiss my presentation of the facts, and my references - just as you did in another section of this forum? And especially when you are wrong! No thank you. Once is enough.
A person once asked you a similar question about resources. You responded by telling them "Research, do the research!" Isn't what's fair for the goose also fair for the gander? So I guess it will have to be on a believe it or not basis. And it's not like someone else can't find the same material I did.

Oh now that's just shameful...tsk tsk. And I thought we were having an intellectual discussion. I can see someone is not out to actually discuss things rationally, but rather is involved in a game of "how can I prove this guy wrong at every turn? I know, let's go scrutinize every single post he makes, and then refute it and claim to have loads of information to the contrary, but never ever post it!" Yeah! That's a great idea! And you're doing great! Unbelievable. I did say there were either twelve or thirteen dogs. Because that number is disputed by several sources. I have also claimed twelve. Because, beyond the seven named dogs, the others are not generally known. If I had said, at one time, that some remained in Nome, it is old information. Old information is difficult to delete. And I have posted more accurate information since, in various places on this site and elsewhere. I know very well (and have said so on my website) that all the dogs went down to Washington, and then on the tour. As I said, Ms. Gosh-I'm-Perfect, historical analysis is a process of learning and growing. That never ends. Take the hint. You could use it. And that you are minutely scrutinizing old posts of mine is very, very disturbing. It also brings into focus your agenda. You're just one of another three or four Siberian Husky people (the others from some small club in Oregon) who claim to have a wealth of information, but consistently are unable and unwilling to share it openly. Which makes it baloney. And makes the consistent attacks on me rather sad and pathetic, really. When I have made a mistake, I own up to it. That was old information, and I don't even recall where and when it was posted. Owning up to mistakes is also something you need to learn a good deal about. Let alone humility. Good luck with that. It is amusing to me that you claim to have some secret information that has somehow eluded the likes of Gay and Laney Salisbury, Ken Ungermann, the History Channel, etc. And that you refuse to give it for fear that I would "attempt to humiliate" you. ROFL That begs the question of the source of your information, let alone the information itself. I have lots of material too. The same material backed up in other sources. And there is probably a good deal of material out there I either haven't seen (yet), or is not particularly relevant. Like the question of divorce proceedings in the Ricker clan. lol How that is relevant to the serum run history itself is debatable. I'm done with this game of oneupmanship, Sarah. I have better things to do than to bandy back and forth with someone who has come into the forum just to pick nits and argue with me in some disturbing attempt to do what you claim I am trying to do to you - to humiliate, to argue and to post debatable information. This is the part where the "ignore" comes in. lol And using the "friends & foes" feature, that will make it ever so easy.

Okay, this topic is way off topic now. It was old anyway, it should have been left alone.
