Havent seen the second one and until recently I didnt know there was another one, saw the Fox and the Hound again last night and I still think it's a great movie. I'll have a look for the second one to see what its like, keeping everyones comments in mind of course. Unfoutunatly it doesnt sound like it has any grown up scenes (which I prefer now more then I did when I was younger) but I suppose if the second movie is meant to be a little adventure thing of them when they were young, I guess it's to be expected

I wished they would have made the continuing of the Fox and the hound by showing Amos Slade and Widow Tweed like each other and they find out Copper and Tod are friends and what about Tod and Vixey cubs I mean they made a book about them but they should make a movie

I have never seen Fox and the Hound 1, but i have seen 2, in fact, i have the Fox and the hound 2 on DVD.
but as ive seen, the story does seem pointless. a midquel? lol. i think disney just did that for money.
I love the animation though. they both are cute. and i like the designs of the characters. but the story really makes no sense, it might make sense if on the first movie, it didnt go to when they were adults, and then it was a real sequel. lol
I really need to watch the first one.

Too bad, I think the second movie was too far away less than the first movie. The main problem on the second movie that make this movie bad was the story... yeah, just the story I think. It wasn't made any sense since the very first movie, totally different

I actually really enjoyed the sequel; it nowhere near as good as the first, but I thought it was cute enough and I really don't mind half the songs.
However, I'm probably being biased, because it's the first thing I watched after seeing the last episodes of Wolf's Rain for the first time, and it instantly cheered me up....so i guess it's my feel-good movie :3

I didn't enjoy the sequel very much (or more accurately 'midquel') because to me it indicated the direction Disney was going, at least in 2006. When you compare the first movie to the second one, it's immediately apparent to me what's missing from the second one.
Trauma. Emotion. Loss. Back in the 70s and early 80s, Disney did not pull punches with your emotions. When you went to see a Disney movie in the theater, you would likely end up crying though part of it, almost in the way that Pixar is able to do now. It's just good storytelling and character development, it's what is necessary in any story to make you feel something for the characters.
The opening scene in The Fox and the Hound shows Todd's mother being hunted, and she has to abandon her cub just so that he might have a chance to survive, and moments later she's killed. That is some heavy stuff right there, and that's what all Disney's later sequels were missing. Any sense of urgency, danger, or anything that might cause you to be interested in the characters.
So I guess on its own the sequel was okay, but having seen the first one I was severely disappointed.

It was okay. The first one was better, though. I liked the songs.
