You know, in all honesty, it doesn't matter whether or not kids "like" it. It's a matter of whether or not they should have access to it. Funny, second sentence into your insidious suggestion, you're using wrong terminology already. What does that say for the rest of it?

Yeah, it's generally a kid's site. If some members like that stuff, whatever. But remember this: The internet isn't a freakin' 6x6 cell that you can't get out of. It's expansive. Meaning if you want to affiliate yourself with pornography and such, go elsewhere.

Lol private RP Box. Answer me this. Why in the hell can't you just roleplay elsewhere if you're going to use questionable material?

And your security protocols are a load of bull. Each is easily exploited, neither can be known for sure, unless the person in question is known by a member in real life.

I don't think anyone should be arguing on this point, to be honest. What I'm seeing is the same argument going around in circles, the most flammable posts are being responded to and those who are trying to settle the matter so that the idea can go forward or be settled.

I've got no qualms about deviant sexual matters and whatnot that is currently the point of contention. Personally, I think it best to be open-minded on all issues to be able to see from all sides of the matter, even those with which you disagree with. While some may have issues of homosexual/bisexual roleplay being done in such a box, and they should not have to see it.

JC - to address your concern on being true to the cartoons integrity and such, most roleplay between/amongst the older members that occurs in the roleplay boxes do not include mention either film. The roleplay boxes are not strictly for Balto or The Lion King, and the roleplays are most often original characters, not canon ones. Also, I do not think that this is the time nor the place to go on a political/religious rant, no matter of your stance.

If an older member box is put into the site, I would propose the following rules, which of course can be changed with mature discussion.

1) No graphic sex of any sort. It does not matter if it is heterosexual or homosexual. Just no sex. Romance is fine for the mature site - kissing and hugging and other such actions are fine - between characters. That is, no mate talking in the mature people's box. If someone grows vocally uncomfortable, respect their wishes. Freedom of Speech only extends as far as infringing on another's rights - and that includes comfortability. Anything further than what is allowed - take it to a roleplay site that allows for adult sexual behavior (they do exist for individuals over the age of 17 or 18) or to IM.

2) Respect everyone and be mature - this one should be obvious (lol).

3) Individuals under the age of 15 or are not allowed by their house rules to see such things are strictly not allowed and can banned for entering the box.This includes moderators who are under the age limit - the rules apply to everyone. The box and the people on it at the time as well as Steet will not be held accountable for someone getting in trouble with their elders for seeing something that they should not. While it is difficult to uncover someone's real age on the Internet, it is not impossible.

Anyway, I still think it is a good idea - if not for the roleplay, but for mature discussion on topics that are otherwise banned (politics, religion, etc, etc). Odds are against a flame war erupting between mature members who treat one another with mutual respect.

Whether you are implying that I don't see the other side or not, let this be said. I can see the other side, the reasons why one would wish to pursue things such as the sexual content. By nature, wait, not by nature. It IS nature. The natural urge to reproduce.

I am in favor of having a mature box for political/religious discussions, because if they are crafted and replied to by a mature mind, they can be very in-depth discussions.

I am not in favor of having a mature box for sexual talk. As I said before, and I'll say it again, if you wish to talk/debate/promote this content, do so elsewhere.

Why are we creating a rule book, now? This suggestion is merely crap perpetrated by an individual that for whatever reason feels they cannot take such content elsewhere.

JC, I understand you want to keep the decency of the cartoons, and I hear you. Overly sexual and gory content is, at times, utter yeuch.

To all, though: what if such a private RP box existed that still kept a level of such decency? Although there'd be less limits than the usual with swearing, blood, etc. it's not like people who are pushing for such stuff want to RP with their characters and have explicitly sexual/violent/deviant RPs I'm pretty sure they'd be against that in this particular box. Think of it as PG-13 RPs. The current RP box seems to be PG or lower only... sometimes even lower... so that wouldn't be too much fuss, would it?

As for the other box for more mature discussion (politics, religion etc) I'd be fine with that. I'm no debater myself on such things but it'd be a bit of freedom, as with the RP box described above.

JC - I do see where you're coming from, really. I just don't want to see this turning into some sort of argument en masse where everyone gets to be hating everyone else. My rule suggestions were just suggestions in no way shape or form actual rules, if such a box was created, which now I understand would be impossible to enforce to a t *sigh*. I know you're not trying to flame me, so no worries there. However, I still stand by my original suggestion of making a whole other site for that kind of stuff, because of the riots that would ensue here. I also still think Steet should make a comment on this topic for either way, which I hope would end the arguments. But now I really really want a mature discussion box XD But that would be another can of worms, eh?

Because I ALREADY DID THAT. "VIP box", doesn't that remind you of something?
Anyway, it didn't work : even though there was a bug allowing almost everyone to go on, no one was on that shout box.
The biggest problem is that there is no technical way to make sure the visitors are truly childs or adults. There's just no way to do that.

Also, I have always been against dividing people into categories. The site is for EVERYONE, and I'm always laughing when people use the word "mature", because there can be no good definition for that.
I didn't create that box for allowing to break the rules, I did it because I wanted the members who've been on the site for longer to get a place to talk together. Not for "mature" reasons.

If you want a place with more serious content, then make interesting topics on the forums, send interesting articles, contests, etc...You'll see you will automatically bring more people doing the same.

No,there's no short memory here,IMO,another VIP box,simply would not work out.
