Read it and shut up about how this is all fake metal....

*sigh* I'm trying to prove how much of a farse these genres are, yes some exist but most is crap thought up by the media and the band themselves, everyone is striving to be new and original and it goes far as to completely seperate from what true metal used to be about "Raw, hard aggression". Now instead with have opera-metal and folk metal claiming to be metal. But is it really? I wouldn't mind so much just as long as people stopped calling it metal when it clearly isn't, some of those genre names are hilarious though

Opera-Metal = Symphonic/Gothic Metal
Folk Metal is metal. I don't get it. How do you not see that? Because it's not played like Old school Thrash or Death Metal means it's not metal? It's like saying you expect 60's pop music to sound the same as current pop-music trends.

Yeah but u dont get folk-pop or opera-pop do u?... actually do u? I can imagine it now lol

60's pop is different from nowadays pop cause it's changed

80's metal is different from nowadays metal cause it's changed too but all those other types of labelled metal are different genres, completely different from metal, but they just shove in some heavy metal chords along with a violin and people say its metal.

I dont even know why im defending true metal as im not the biggest fan but I'm more then happy to argue some more.

Would you call a folk singer metal? Nope
Would you call the same folk singer with a guitarist playing thrash, metal? Seems like you would

This is where we differ, cause I'd say no to it

Funny thing is there's nothing metal about any of those bands.

Good point and **** no are The Misfits metal

They are horror punk and the greatest horror punk band ever, go buy their CD's or records and stop downloadin 1 or 2 songs from every new band u hear!!!

On a more friendly note, welcome to the world of rock/metal/punk etc, enjoy your stay and remember the bands you see on t.v aren't really the true metal stars/punk rockers
