I think the question/rant was very specific. Yet suddenly, a group of people start yapping at each other and getting into personal relations. This is not what the topic was about, and it's pretty sad to look and see what the BS society has seem to become.
Personally I'd find it uncomfortable to start personal attacks out of the blue, that really have no significance, on a forum on a completely different topic.
Why don't we simply respect each other and realize what it looks like for people to be yapping on an online Balto forum.
People discuss, on topics, the off-topic and sometimes troublesome posts other contributors add...and they often mention those people by name. That is not flaming, and it is not tantamount to personal attacks. Neither is it, as stated by the particular individual complained about previously, childish. It is a perfectly legitimate form of dealing with what contributors may view as a problem.
The last time I checked, this place was considered a
discussion forum...not a "
post only if you have nice-nice, flowery, bland and undirected things to say" forum. Sure, there are a LOT of "n00bs", bullies, spammers and flamers here. But there is a BIG difference between them and those who bring up legitimate beefs about something another contributor (of that ilk) does which takes away from the topic, causes trouble, flames, etc. And that
WAS the case in this topic.
It's about time we all start recognizing and respecting that distinct difference instead of lumping it all together and trying to turn this place into a sanitary bore.
And yes, I DO think it'd be nice to get back onto the topic...
I'm not the one who caused it to drift...
Of course this is a discussion topic, I never said there shouldn't be debate in forums, for debate is part of their definition. I never even mentioned debate, but "yapping", which is pretty darn useless.
Nor did I personally accuse you or anyone else...
As to Shaggystar's problem (aka the topic):
If something that seems unjust to you happens, always ask about it. And if you don't get a clear answer or still don't get why, ask AGAIN. People can misunderstand each other constantly, or misunderstand your work.
Otherwise, if the reason is good, do consider it. Sometimes criticism isn't what people like to recieve, but when there are standards then those must be met. Edit, improve, etc, and then send your work in again.
