So what? I can act how I want to. Also, stop picking my posts out of everything and telling me my flaws. Thanks -_-
Back on topic...
Well how about this: IF. YOUR. A. MOD. YOU. SHOULD. HAVE. TO. BE. MATURE. And guess what?! I can do it too
And the day I'll stop picking your posts out is the day that you stop picking Gold Kitty's posts out.
I honestly think you should do some growing up before you tell other people too.
Oh, and as a matter of fact, SINCE your a mod, you SHOULD be acting mature and trying to set an example, not saying things that a two year old would ['I can act how I want to']
And NOW, back on topic.
Hmm... Both Yupik and you, Outlaw, have got a point. I'm not going to involve myself with your squabble, but I suggest you both tone down the hostility towards each others.

Ive seen this a lot of times, When one of this persons who come on the SB only to mess around and people start to throw out unnecessary coments and stuff....sometimes i get the feeling that their trying to purposly provoke the person to do worse things than he/she already done.....i just dont get it, The Mods are there to Ban them or warn them, No one need to take their job, and its no excuse to say that there was no Mod around cause i hardly think it will make the "bad" person go away by provoking them or "feed" them....just ignore them.....
I do understand if the "bad" person attacks someone without any reason at all, defending yourself is not wrong.
Well, I both agree and disagree with you. In truth, the fact that moderators are trying to, but naturally unable to monitor the website 24/7 means that members must help us sometimes. However, punting the person in question in the shoutbox and acting like a moderator will only get yourself banned, and will do no good towards the culprit.
Which brings me to why I disagree; if you defend yourselves against personal attacks from an other member, you are more likely to start flaming, and everyone who socalled 'fuels the fire' will either recieve a warning, or be banned. Defending yourself is not wrong, but it might get you into trouble as well.
What's the best way to handle it? Using the report feature, and moderators will investigate, for then making the necessary decisions and taking action.
I agree with Lux on this. When a person is antagonizing you or bothering you, the last thing you need to do is make come backs at them. That's exactly what they're looking for. The sole reason that they come and insult people is because they want you to get angry with them and fight back. Therefore, if you don't fight back and just ignore them, they don't get the satisfaction they want out of the ordeal. If you ignore them, they'll most likely just end up leaving and if for some reason you can't just ignore them, then the best idea would simply be to leave the shout box for a while, until this person has gone.
Secondly, I notice that many people have not been using the report feature as of late. Yes, it is true that there may be a mod on the site at the time another member is wreaking havoc in the shout box, however, that mod could be any number of places and still be connected to the site. For instance, it could be a fan art mod checking through that days submitted pictures. Unless they were to be notified immediately via instant message or they got lucky, they would likely not arrive until after the chaos is through. This would leave them with little clue as to what happened and why, especially since there seems to be some sort of glitch that is preventing messages from being stored in the shout box. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, try clicking the previous messages link. It will only show the current page and it hasn't been saving any of the messages. Odd, huh?) Without those posts, a mod can't determine what happened and can't take any action.
This can be remedied easily if, when there is an issue such as this, you simply use the report feature near the bottom of the shout box. When you report the offending users, we get many of the messages that they have posted as well as their IP address, which will often aid in banning them quickly. And all of the moderators will be able to see these reports (they have to be cleared manually as we go through them) so we'll definately be able to take care of the problem.
But, the report system only works if you report the problem as it's happening! If you wait to send a report until five minutes after the person has left, we won't get any of the offensive posts and won't be able to do anything about it. Sometimes the best thing to do is to send one report when the person starts acting up, and another as they continue, but two should be all. The best way to guarantee that we know about a problem is to send a report. Also, don't count on your fellow shout box chatters to send these reports; they may be just as busy!
So, in short, when people cause problems, just ignore them, or leave until they are gone. And most importantly, when you see a problem, please, please PLEASE send in a report. ^.^
