XD I'd already replied to it on Balto's True Story, I didn't see much point in repeating myself.

I realize that, UK. You've been very good about that. I will only say this - when I post something on a forum, or reply to someone else's, and there is a similar thing (or the same thing) on another forum I belong to, I post there too. It spreads out my contribution. And, anyway, on here you are an influential element. Your post brings others. Having you post would be of great value. I always count on UK for support (meaning just general support for my posts by participation), and I seldom doubt I'll get it! lol

Aww, I'm sorry Seppy, I never even noticed the article, I never really check there anymore and the "Recent Articles" aren't exactly prominent. I'm not on here (AS) as much as I probably should be anymore either, I prefer to 'surf' the 'lesser-known-but-should-be-popular' sites and go on DA.

Next time there's something important you wish people here to read, send me a nudge on MSN and I shall post! Even if it's only to draw more people to look out of curiosity.

I think it's a bit uncalled for to criticize everyone simply because they didn't make a response. Not everyone is on here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I know I wasn't on. Not to mention that in addition to that, some members don't read the articles that are posted, mainly because a number of these articles have little to no information. In addition to all of this, I'd wager to say that many of the members on Balto source are an average of, what, thirteen years old? Many of them wouldn't know much about the true story, only what they might read about it on the forums, and that's only the small amount of younger members that might be interested in learning. Most people simply just like the cartoon story, which focuses mainly about the struggle of a half wolf to be accepted by his peers, the dogs in the town. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to get on you about this or anything, but you can't just automatically judge people without knowing certain circumstances and accepting that everyone is different and has his/her own life both in cyberspace and in reality.

Since you seem to be selectively reading the past posts, I'm going to take this one step at a time.

First of all, Sep isn't criticizing. He's stating his concern/irritation. And don't even THINK to tell him he can't do this, because many, many members here do it. Seppala is stating that he is displeased with the lack of interest for the true story. Tell me, now, please, what in the heck is wrong with that?

Don't bring up judging. But seeing as you already have, why did you? Sep isn't judging, he is stating his distaste for the lack of knowledge about the true serum run on Balto Source. If you actually read what he and I said about people having time, you'd notice we picked out the group in particular with a lot of posts. We aren't discriminating against them, we are using their post count as evidence to disprove the assertion that people "don't have time". The post count is factual evidence that a lot of people have time. And, we aren't trying to infringe on people's real and cyber lives. As I said before, we are using factual evidence (post counts) to prove that some people have the time. Note that I said "some".

Then tell us why. As far as I can tell, that comment doesn't belong here. If you agree, explain why you agree, give support.

I beg to differ, at least in part. I appreciate that you're not trying to get on me about this, but in effect you are. And really, with the amount of activity from the regular posters here, it would have been quite easy for any one or more of them to visit the board or article in question and see it.

However, the focus is on half-finished role-plays (which always end up going nowhere), on the "Other" board, on films, cartoons, extremely silly and inane posts in the Balto or Lion King movie folders (with the occasional rare exception that is actually an intelligent or creative post), and the general (and sometimes touchy and melodramatic) discussions on the shoutbox. Most real substantive discussion is long gone from this and other fan forums, leading me to conclude (though this is a separate issue) that Balto fandom (and maybe Lion King fandom too) is waning...drying up. And it shows in the lack of quality in most of what is posted on the sites and forum, and the fact that most of the activity occurs in boards here which have nothing (or almost nothing) to do with either Balto or the Lion King.

I don't see judging here. I see assertions statistically and/or factually supported.

Anyways. Sep is correct. A lot of the discussion taking place upon these forums is non-related, or very loosely related to Balto, which, would seem to be better named wolf-related. Other discussion, particularly in "Other" and "Animals", isn't much related to Balto, and it would seem as if those boards get a decent amount of activity. Though, my opinion, the topic/discussion quality in those boards has long since diminished.

I concur as well. Besides (in addition) not everyone cares that much about the history anyway. This IS a cartoon Balto movie fan site after all. Not a historical site. I can understand getting tiffy over people who don't care about history on a site made for...history. But history websites have different "fans" (if you really want to call them fans) than movie/book/cartoon/etc websites.

I'm not saying that history can't be as interesting as fan-stuff, but there's only so much you can know about something like Balto and I'm (and I speak for others when I say this) not really given a reason as to why I should "celebrate" the anniversary (heck, it was hardly celebrated when/after it happened). Yes, its a Balto site, but again, its not a Balto history site.

Yeah, people are weird for "loving the real Balto" and supposedly being obsessed with him and then go and forget when he delivered the medicine back to Nome. I suppose for that there's no excuse, but I'm just thankful to know that there's people not so absorbed, its unhealthy.

So given circumstances, I think its pretty understandable to miss something like this.

Post something like this http://youtube.com/watch?v=BrWzk_bfiVc during the anniversary, then one would actually spark someone's interest.
