Trevor nodded. "Yeah, I know." he said.

Saba laughed. "Axe-murderers? You have a big imagination. I'd say the biggest thing we'd have to worry about is dogfighting rings. Can you believe some of the stuff humans do to dogs in those? Most of them end up in the pound afterwards, bad stuff." she said. "Just glad an owner of one didn't find us before our owners did, gives me cold chills just think about it." She shook for a moment to show that, she was a bit of a joker.

Titan overheard that. "Dog fighting rings...good times right bro?" he asked.

Scarlet smiled "Then just be that good doggy you've always been!" she gave a wink to her brother.

Dngo smirked "You're right. But one can always hope..." eyes would dart up, playfully looking in deep though. "But, I suppose you're right, those poor dogs just brainwashed and made into such killing machines."

Mammoth grinned "Never got shot, never lost a limb...yea, good times.."

Trevor nodded. "I saw a news report with my owner yesterday, a big dog fighting ring up in White Mountian was raided by the police. Two dogs got away, you should of seen one of them, he was gigantic, he made dad look like Dixie." he said.

"Yeah I saw that too, how do you think he got that big?" asked Saba.

Titan smirked. "Yeah, and we always had some poor saps blood to taste. Looks like they've heard of you. You sure made quite an impression on the animal control officer's throat when we got out of there didn't you?" he asked with an evil smile.

Scarlet nodded, ears lowered "I know, I saw him too. He was huge. Poor dogs...Wonder where they could be now.."

Dingo sighed "My owner said it's some sort of birth mutation. it's rare but humans have it too. He probably was smalll when he was born, and then grew into...that..."

Mammoth chuckled, moving his claws about in front of his face. "Heh, you know me, bro. I gotta make a big scene." that same malicious grin plastered over his face.

Trevor nodded. "Yeah, combine that size and that he was a fighting dog can you imagine what he must of done to the dogs they made him fight?" he asked.

Saba nuzzled his sister. "I'm sure they're far away, they probably couldn't make it through the wilderness to Nome, well maybe the massive one but not the other." she said.

Titan smiled. "Kind of hard not to do when you're so big. I'm glad they never made us fight." he said.

Dingo shuddered "I'd rather not. My imagination goes so far before it becomes nightmarish..."

Scarlet nodded, nuzzlin her sister in return "You're right, but I'm just a little nervous I suppose. I mean...I know there must be good in every dog, right? No matter how big, or mean they seem..."

Mammoth shrugged, clawing at a tree trunk beside him. "It's fun though. Makes sure no one messes with you." he smirked "Not to mention...relatives?"

Saba nodded. "Yeah, some fighting dogs get rehibilated but it takes a lot of work to do it." she said.

Trevor was starting to get creeped out talking about this. "You know its funny, dad told us how Aleu reacted to learn she was part wolf, I didn't really feel any diffrent, it was always a part of me, no way to change it." he said.

"Same here."

Titan cocked his eyebrow. "What does that mean?" he asked.

Dingo nodded. "It's a miracle within itself, really, that it happens...For some. I've seen my share of fighting dogs be...Well, you know." he was referring to those dogs who could not be helped at all.

Scarlet nodded, looking down. "I tihnk it's because we knew we were all acccepted as dogs, and not hybrids. I mean, look at us. So, it kidna makes me feel guilty. Our own sister..." she sighed, ears pinned back.

Mammoth blinked, lookign down to his brother, "Hm? What?"

Saba nodded. "Yeah, they have to be put down, a waste of a life. Humans close the door to their heart so tight no one can pry it open again." she said.

Trevor nodded. "Well we should be proud of her though, alpha female of a wolf pack is about as good as lead dog on a sled team." he said.

Scarlet nodded, curling up a moment. "Yeah, I mean, their trust can be so easily broken. And that just tears them apart..inside..."

Dingo smiled, giving a nod. "I know and standing up even when her and Dad were down? You really have to commend courage like that."

Saba nodded. "Poor dogs, just makes me more glad we got such good owners. Maybe it was good Aleu looked so much like a wolf, I think if she didn't an owner of a dog fighting ring might of took her real quick, she always had that build to her you know." she said.

"Yes, dad made a habit of getting back with the odds stacked against him you know. Aleu took more after him than looks." said Trevor.

Titan growled a little. "Forget it. Think we could find a moose or something to kill? I'm starving." he said.

Scarlet nodded, lookign up at the clouds thougthfully. "She gets it from Papa, you know." she smiled. "Not like it's a bad thing, but her form is intially tmore wolfish..."


Dingo nodded. "You're right, Aleu and Dad are more alike than they probably have realized."

Mammoth nodded, standign up and starting to walk away "I'm sure there's some helpless creature we can get. Come on."

Saba nodded. "I wish we'd get the opperunity to do something great, be a hero too you know." she said.

Trevor nodded. "Kodi too, he might not look like dad but he got dads stubborn streak, that's for sure." he said.

"Alright." said Titan, following his massive brother.

Scarlet shook her head "Not me, I just wanna be like Mom. Find someoen who cares for me..." she smiled. "I'm perfectly content being average..."

Dingo sighed, nodding. "Kodi is stubborn, but he eventually does do the right thing."

Mammoth smirked, huge paws leaving prints in the snow. "There's so many wolves here, there's gotta be lots of prey."

Saba nodded. "I guess that's fine as well. I mean if everyone was a hero, there'd be no need for heroes would there?" she asked.

"That's true. Can't blame him for not wanting to go after Duke at first, after all he almost lost his job because of Duke's plane. Wasn't really Duke's fault though, he just wasn't thinking how his actions would affect the dogs." said Trevor.

"Yeah, if we have to you could crush a wolf like a twig." said Titan, an evil smile on his face.
