Look, I know he did say that but, I kind of think he had a right to say it. Him and Togo did alot more than just bringing medicine back to Nome. You also got to remember, he ran the longest distance. Call me dumb but, I didn't even know Balto and Togo were stuffed until a few monthes ago.

OMG, I know! Those Balto pics always scare me. Depends how big they are LOL. Anyway, I just kind of wonder why Lehonard Seppla would say something like that. I haven't really liked him ever since.

JerseyCaptain wrote: He did say that, yes. However, you have to consider what was happening at the time. Here was a dedicated musher, returning from a grueling, deadly run, and he returned to find Balto and Gunnar Kaasen (not even the rest of the team) getting all of the attention. ALL of the attention. As if they alone made the entire run. Where was the mention of the other 18 drivers and teams? And why were Togo's historical accomplishments as a racing dog and a hero of past emergencies being attributed to Balto?
He had every right to be angry. You are considering it 83 years later...when so little of the information from the time survives...and almost no one is alive who was there to recount the facts to you. And with three Balto cartoon movies having been produced (and several books published) singing the praises of a dog named Balto (more than half the time, an imaginary wolf-dog hybrid named "Balto"). Try not to jump to conclusions. Instead, try to understand and appreciate what people would have been feeling at the time. Jersycaption, you don't need to be so mean. (No offense)

o.O
JC isn't being mean, he's stating the facts. The facts, which are indeed the truth. The truth can hurt, but you can either run from it or learn from it. It's no reason to start disliking Seppala, Togo, and the team. O.o

Good you are reposting some of your old stuff I realise there have been some requests for it to become a sticky but I am afraid I am unable to mod at the moment because the computer is not working properly, but I will certinaly add it as a link in the "All you need to know" sticky. Welcome back by the way!

Quote: Thank you, Highland Wolf. It certainly has been a while, hasn't it? What in the world happened to you over the course of time? Been busy I guess, I'm not really a big internet person so I only come on now and again Do you mean what happened to me over on your Balto forums? Because I don't know, I haven't been able to log in, it doesn't accept my name or password which I know I am tryping in correctly. Maybe you can help answer that question..??
