Im not tryin to get a ban on OCs im just pointing out and thanks for commenting on my fics. My charrie is solaris, a teen aged human with dark powers.

I have a solution that should fit you all, the same way I did for the fanarts
I will add the possibility to choose the category of a fanfic (Balto / not Balto)
Then, I will add a filter so that people can choose if they only want to see Balto fanfics or all of them.
It will be long though because the mods and/or the authors will need to update their fanfics to get this information.

That's a real good idea Steet, it will help the fanfic mods a lot as well.

I actually deleted all my Balto fanfics because no one has read them or cared. So now, I'm writting stories about my charrie Tsumeato. He's the main character of the story, but I'm going to write a Balto fic every now and then. But still it never hurts to try something new.

And my answer is still NO. I think we're entitled to write whatever we want to.

Like Steete really need to be told AGAIN how great that idea is...but i say anyway. GREAT IDEA! that should make everyone happy. personally, i perfer if you had options. eg: i'm not always in a Balto mood, and i'm not great at coming up with story ideas w/ someone elses characters, afraid i'll mess them up, and the plot will suck. i've written/typed several stories, may be posted, but doubt they'll be read.

I greatly disagree. It would be incredibly boring if we could only write about Balto...I think its prefectly fine to be allowed to write about animals that are related to Balto (dogs, wolves..ect.). Don't get me wrong, fics about Balto are good but, it's also good to have variety. =P

What's so bad about diversifying? Sometimes a writer may feel that he or she cannot find an angle of the Balto sage worthy enough of a story. I don't see any problem here.

i dont really agree, using only universals characters in fics can get quite boring after awile, you know, every fic being about jenna cheating on balto for steele or kodi and dusty's puppies.

I voted no. But i agree with the rule you must have more Balto fan fics, i am in the middle of writing a fan fic about a meerkat (Flower), but most (Nearly all exept from 1) is a balto fan fic, so i beleve it's time to make somthing a little diffrently. And yes, i feel reading constant balto fan fics a little boring...
