Your thoughts on Niju

I do not think they did enough with Niju, he had the possibity to be a great villian but they didn't follow through, they could of had a big fight at the end but they didn't, they could of had him actuelly nearly kill Nava. As for the cat thing, I agree, he does, I've alway wanted Balto to go against a big cat but not a wolf that looks like one.

Maybe, Niju wasn't supposed to be villain because from what I see, he seems trying to make the whole life of clan become better, but still, he is so impatient for becoming a leader althought his skills isn't adequate.

He isnt a vilain, he has arrogance and hes own view of the future of the pack.

Yeah, maybe you're right. After all, Niju seems could be a good guy if he wanted to learn.

a villain is someone who breaks the law or betrays others.

i voted that niju was a weak villian because i think that he didnt really do a good job at being a bad guy/villian but thats just my opnion

Well,he's one of my top favorite characters,seem to be in my opinion a very good fighter,was overwhelmed by fear which forced his actions and just needed some time to think and he would change.Read my article on the site for info.

Niju was no way a copy of Steele...
Their personalities and motives for not liking Balto were completely different.
Also, I think Niju was perhaps not always intended as the "bad guy" but with WQ they seem to have gone for a more convetional "children's film" instead of a family film like Balto or TLK meaning they just used Niju as the "bad guy" because they thought it needed a "bad guy".

Niju could've been a really good and interesting character but he felt a bit 'one-sided' as if they'd not thought of a very detailed personality for him.

Also, the similarities between Niju's and Steele's design can be explained by the fact animators often like to add things like straight lines, pointed features, smaller eyes etc. to make you realise that particular character is probably the "baddie" and slightly more fearful of said charcater. E.g. Scar? Zira? ;]
