Maybe you should give your writing as big a chance as you do for your drawing. You might just learn something about yourself.

Heavens, I never said for you to give up drawing!! You can still draw, and ALWAYS STRIVE TO GET BETTER. That's the key. After all, what's the use in pursuing a skill if you're always stuck in a level that's under appreciated anyway? And yes. All your effort and time is going into drawing, that you may be forgetting that there are a lot of other good things about you that you haven't yet seriously challenged yourself with. And so I challenge you to take some of that spiff, that energy, you put so much into art, and invest it in your writing. I promise you results, or your money back!! ;]

Dood, seriously, DON'T EVER COMPARE YOURSELF. Ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVAH!!one!!1! Lol. XDDD You're looking at apples to oranges here. Cat has her way of doing things and Beauty_Jenna has her way. Are you really exploiting your full potential if you aim to be EXACTLY like someone else? No, no, no, no, NO!!! (Haha, sorry, I'm hyped.) Be who you are, and go at your own pace. When you start to look enviously at others, you get seriously discouraged and demoralized. Believe me, this happens to me too. You start putting limitations on yourself. Pushing yourself too hard. Putting yourself down. It's never the way to go.

But for all I know, we could've asked, "Why can't I be as good as Leonardo da Vinci or Van Gogh?" The answer's rather simple really: YOU CAN'T. Why? Because you're not Leonardo da Vinci or Van Gogh. Look up to others as a way of inspiration, not competition. And then, things will start coming to you. When you go at your own speed, it'll come naturally to you, like it does for them. Of course, sometimes, we may not go as fast as we want. But learn to be patient, and practice....a lot. Lol. XD

i do agree with you. i think that the rest of us artists should be given a chance. we should be given credit fo what we already have.. and the people who already GOT credit, shouldn't get much more.

Flare, I couldn't agree more with this rant. Those topics are frally annoying. Just because some people can draw and others can't doesn't mean they have to make a topic about the best artists, it only makes others jealous. Those topics really do have to stop.

There's always Furaffinity.net and Sheezyart.com too. I've found SA to be very friendly ;D

Well, the galleries displayed on first page are chosen automatically : it selects the galleries which received the most favorites during the last month.
If you have an idea to make this fairer, I'm open for suggestions; maybe I will try developing the "Last sent" page, why not putting it into first tab and moving the galleries on the second tab?

I hope I don't sound rude or anything, but don't you think it'd be a bit mean to sort of forget about the popular artists? I mean, yeah, the less popular artists should get more attention, but you should still pay attention towards the more-known artists on the site.

Personally, I think that the most fair method would be to display artists on the front page randomly. Although I'm not sure how easy that is, it's an idea.
