Bah! When threads like these are made but the focus is Balto, fans debate it calmly. But the minute one's made with TLK, there's an uproar!

Come on people. Take other's views into consideration already instead of being all "OMG NO WAI TLK IZ BEST!!!11!! STOP BASHING US BALTO PEOPLE!!1!"

Thank you Cobalt. Maybe I was a tad heartless. I do like The Lion King, it has some good points:

The music and songs
Scar
The animation
The backgrounds
Timon and Pumbaa etc.

Other good characters in TLK are.........

1.Sarabi

2.Rafiki

3.Zazu(it made me smile somewhat,when he put his wing on Sarabi's paw)

4.Mufasa

Overreacting, much? Nobody said The Lion King is stupid, or anything. They just said what is your thoughts on it being overrated? Everybody has different views, don't be angry. If YOU think The Lion King isn't overrated, good for you. But people have different views. You will have to accept that.

IMO? Yes, I believe The Lion King is overrated. Very overrated. I don't dislike it. It's an alright show(not my favorite /at all/ to make that clear. Kimba is way better. ) Everybody knows about the show, there is items everywhere of the show(almost in every toy store you walk in), and it's very popular. You even have many children walking around the streets dressed up as Simba on halloween.

By the way, The Lion King copied alot more off Kimba: The White Lion than you think.

They didn't copy everything from Kimba, but they copied alot.

IMO. If you don't agree, good for you. But don't go yelling at me or trying to push your thoughts on me just because you don't agree with me.

omg! i agree, how many times have we seen " balto, or tlk?"
ugh..i hate that! why should they come over and annoy the hell out of us! TLK is our fav movie, and balto is theirs. they don't have the right to critsize us for what we like!!!

FIRST of all,
Do you know how many times I saw TLK fans posting on Balto Topics saying stuff such as:

"Steele sucks. Scar Rules!"
"I love making fun of Balto!!!!!" < - On the Balto Bloopers topic from a TLK fan that isn't a fan of Balto.
"um I dont have a Balto plush nor would I want one"
"Simba is way better than Balto."

Oh and on the Balto forums - I found this post from a TLK fan -- > "TLK movies re much better than it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". Copied & pasted straight from the topic.

Psh, if anybody is being one sided, it's you. Because TLK fans are also going on Balto boards, saying pretty much the same thing as Balto people are saying on the TLK side. Even though this site wasn't called "TLK vs. Balto Source" .......


Also, TLK getting success? I could CARE LESS about how much success it gets. Good for it! All I said was it's overrated, IMO. Does that mean I hate it? No. And IF Balto WAS overrated, yes then I would ADMIT it(which if it was overrated IMO then I would like it the same) But I don't think it is at all. There is very little of it.. Hell, the plushies & toys cost about $60(generally). So much for being overrated. If you think so, whatever.

NOBODY is "flaming" TLK. My gosh. All I said that it copied some off Kimba & that it's a bit overrated, and I said Kimba is better, IMO. All because I said that does not mean I hate the movie.

I'm not being one-sided. I saw a topic asking for MY thoughts whether if TLK is overrated or not. I posted on it, giving my thoughts. Balto's my favorite movie, but if Balto was as popular as The Lion King & I saw a topic asking my thoughts about Balto being overrated - I would say the same thing if Balto was overrated. That DONT change how I would feel for it, however.

Also, nobody said it was Disney's fault Balto has very little credit, so why did you bring that up?

Everybody is overreacting. And some people really need to define bashing. Nobody is bashing yall for what you like. When somebody posts: "-insert your name here-, how can you like that stupid TLK show?? Omg are you blind?? Balto is WAY better. Can you not see that??" then I can understand you getting mad. But no, everybody is stating THEIR thoughts about the whole thing. THEIR opinion on the matter. Which they aren't being too harsh about it, neither. When they yell at YOU for liking TLK, okay. fine. But nobody is yelling at YOU or -all TLK fans- for liking that show.

And some people just want to know whether you like TLK or Balto better. It's not like you can't like both. There is nothing wrong with asking... at all! Unless they said, "TLK sucks! I pity TLK fans. Go Balto!" but no I haven't saw a topic like that so far.

Also, I never said that The Lion King sucks, because I DO like the movie - just not enough to be considered a 'fan'. I like the animation & the songs, and stuff like that. All because I said it's overrated, that Kimba is better(IMO), don't mean I'm bashing TLK fans. How is that bashing -- anybody --? I don't care if you like TLK better than Balto. Good for you because I like Balto better than TLK! Look, we are even! If you like TLK better, then I'm fineee with that! I never said you were bad for liking a show that I didn't like as much as you.

Yes, it's different, I agree. But also alike in a way. They didn't copy Kimba 100% but I do believe they got some of their ideas from Kimba such as the appearing on the sky, evil family member, ect. It's not really "copying", I suppose - but either way, there is a huge chance they watched Kimba .. liked it & "took" some ideas. Simba was really going to be a white lion also. (I'm glad they changed that, because it would probably add more angry Kimba fans to the bunch, assuming Lion King is nothing but a copy.)

I thought I'd correct some overlooked things! Yay!

I still think you lot are overreacting. Any sort of implication TLK might be doing something wrong and you people go nuts at us. Sure, there are some people out there who will be all in-your-face about you liking TLK more than Balto - but that's just a small percentage. You need to understand that the whole site here was made for Balto first, and TLK was added on afterwards, so OF COURSE there's going to be more Balto fans and more attention to Balto. So what if someone thinks "Animation Source" will always be Balto Source to them? That just means they didn't support the change and will prefer to call the forums the name the site has as well. That doesn't mean they hate TLK, nowhere did it say that. Why must you jump to conclusions so quickly? Stop and think before you act.
