We all have our own opinions! Strawberry, could you PLEASE tell me why exactly you come to a wolf-lovers site, are a fan of balto (who is part wolf), yet, claim to want to get a wolf hunting lisense. you really dont sound like any type of canine lover to me when you continue to day that. wolves are living creatures, that must eat just like any other animal in the world. Warrior Cat, I'm more of a dog/horse/pony person. Wolves? Well.... I find it quite unbelievable and sad that someone can be a fan of Balto and yet still have such jaded and bitter feelings towards wolves. I think a good portion of the lesson that movie teaches is that what humans fear and don't understand isn't always bad. It also teaches against prejudice and hatred, and shows us the symbolic beauty of the wild wolf(hence the touching white wolf scene, which, even though I've somewhat "outgrown" Balto, still brings a tear to my eye). That brings me to my question: why on Earth do you hate wolves in the first place and why do you want to kill them? To be totally honest, I don't really care for horses that much. It's not for any reason that I can describe, they're just not all that special to me. But even so, I love and respect them just like any other animal, and would never harm one or intend to harm one in my life. In fact, a couple years back, when I heard about the relentless slaughter of wild horses in America, my blood boiled almost as much as it did when I heard about the aerial killings of wolves in Alaska.

You still never answered the main question, which is why? Why hunt wolves? They're not hurting you. Why do you hate them? They're the ancestor of every dog on earth. What do you have against them?

What do you have against them? It's not a matter of hate, it's a matter of freedom. Strawberry Splash wants to hunt wolves because it is one of her freedoms; the freedom to hunt and kill wolves. Don't you like her freedom to do so? You don't, huh? So I guess you're against freedom! You know who's also against freedom? Terrorists! So the next time you protest against someone who wants to use his freedom to hunt wolves, ask yourself: are you a terrorist? ... ps: note that I was being ironic.

I think everyone is capable of speaking for themselves, Cogitor. I'm not sure I catch the irony in your post. I can see if you're being facetious, but I'm not sure I see any irony there. In any case, I think you'll find that no, I'm not a 'terrorist' nor do I 'hate freedom'. You're creating a false dilemma. I was simply wondering why someone would dislike a particular animal so intensely.

The whole point was that the entire post was so grotesquely 'wrong' that you couldn't even begin to take it seriously (think 'the Colbert report', or Bill O'Reilly). I mean, comparing anyone who dislikes hunting to a terrorist, how insane is that? The point I tried making was that Strawberry Splash's whole argument up to know has been that she is going to hunt wolves because - she wants to do so - she is allowed to do so if she gets a license - and that it's her opinion and that we can't attack her because of that opinion My point was that if she is going to hunt only because she dislikes wolves and is free to do so, that's a freedom which should be curbed.

Alright, then. I apologize for my misunderstanding. Certain things get 'lost in translation' as it were. The beauty of the internet, no doubt.

Ok then, I'm Glad that's sorted. SS~ Sorry about any recent posts, I have nothing against you, I just didn't really think it fitted in well with the whole topic.

I meant the whole wolf lovers group Which is most people anyway, so I'd hardly say it's us against the whole world.

Wolf hybrids are dangerous, more dangerous than wild, pure wolves, Strawberry Splash. Bad sides of the wolf and bad sides of the dog shine through. I think people should stop creating and taking in wolf hybrids.
