ahahahaahahaha people actually think those are reviews??

I read the 2nd one on the list with Stve Rhodes who keeps refrencing Lady and the Tramp non- stop, it wasn't even good writing, his 'job' was "internet reviews"! Now thats shocking, maybe if some of them actually put some thought into the movie and made a half- arsed attempt with their own writing I would take em more seriously

Don't worry, the comment on that review summed it up pretty nicely.
But I agree with you. In my opinion, he was being too hard. He needed to see things from a childs point of view. In his review, it's the same thing - 'it's not Disney, and so therefore it's bland, dull and weak.' If he wants to see a bland, dull and weak film, he should watch The Jungle Book.

No, he simply needed to see things from an objective point of view, not a disney-fanboy one.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
Who cares if Balto 'is not Disney?' It's a wonderful film for all ages. I would not say 'OMG DIZ IZ DA BEST MOVIE EVA!!!! But it's a real highlight today, especially when compared to the vast amount of CGI that's been clogging the theatres.

I wonder what the score would be if they had just slapped a Disney logo on the boxart.

Critics of anything really... You often have to hear things by word of mouth to know what's good.

Actually, to know what's good, watch it yourself before heaing any1's opinions and see how you feel upon your first viewing.

It's hard to make people change their first opinion. If they consider a Universal cartoon horrible, even the best animated movie in the world won't make them change their mind.

But Universal had, just 6 years before, came out with The Land Before Time.

If it was criticized for its unDisney-ness, then how come Secret of NIMH got a good score? (it has a 100%)

It's a shame. The ratings on IMDB are no better - Bee Movie gets a higher rating, for pete's sake!

NIMH isn't very well-known and only has thirteen reviews. Balto came out when Disney was at its height, so the reviewers tended to be a bit small-minded when it comes to judging non-Disney animated movies.

Rotten Tomatoes is garbage, just ignore 'em. They can't review movies if their lives depended on it.
