I recently got into watching the Blue Dragon series. You can find most of the episodes on YouTube, and I believe the first ten episodes are already out on DVD. Of course, the Americanized versions don't compare to the original Japanese animes, but it's still enjoyable nonetheless. The characters are all so.... tangible. And the plot is interesting to keep on watching.

If you like DragonBall Z, I'd highly recommend it, since it's also by the same producer.

Out of the MANY anime I've watched I recomend:

Fullmetal Alchemist (My fav ever!)
Soul Eater (It's not in english yet but they have subs at souleaterepisodes.com)
Death Note (Kinda dark, but it's a great anime & is very popular)
Fruits Basket (It's cute and interesting ^^)

I don't recommend Naruto unless you want to get hooked and a unnecissarily long and repetivive series. It has it's good points though.

I love Cat Wife, but that's only in the comic form.
