Outlaw wrote: Hmm.. I don't know if I should post this here or not, but this is something that happened to me and my dog. (Pitbull X Rottweiler cross)
I went to the store with my friends and we took the dogs (mine and our other friends dog, Molly, who is a Shepherd/Husky cross). We tied them up to the bench and were waiting for one of our friends to buy whatever she needed in the store. A guy, his wife and 2 kids came up to us (the kids were in the wagon) and the guy asked "what kind of dog is that?" I replied "She's a Pitbull Rottweiler." His wife and kids were up ahead, taking their groceries to the car. He just said "oh, wow, I would NEVER think of owning a dog like that, you must have alot of problems." I just rolled my eyes and said "No, she actually listens really well." He petted Molly on the head and walked away, his daughter, who was probably 5 or 6 said "what kind of dog is it?" and her dad replied "a very mean dog."
It made me and my friend mad, because he didn't even take the time to pet my dog to get to know her or anything... That guy must be very stupid -_-

I would join but to be honest, I sort of agree with BSL.
I love Pitbulls.. and staffies and all the other breeds that are stereotyped and I hate the fact that they are stereo-typed but the dog-fighters out there will only get hold of and abuse Pittys..
I know people say 'blame the deed not the breed' and all that but .. seriously, if you ever arrest and prosecute a dog-fighter, let me know.
I expect that I'm therefore not welcome.

What's the name of the shelter, Outlaw?
Do they have a website?
Just interested =]
I'd say that those are fighting scars on Eve.. they certainly look like it anyway, from what I've seen in the past anyway..

I'm going to be stealing Eve, just so you know. She's too cute. How anyone could hurt a cute girl like that is beyond my ability to comprehend. I'm an educated man, but I can't understand how someone could look at a dog, regardless of its breed, and want to injure or hurt it.

I'm an educated man, but I can't understand how someone could look at a dog, regardless of its breed, and want to injure or hurt it. We're thinking of adopting Eve also, but she hasn't arrived at the shelter yet. She's currently in Calgary and will probably be ariving sometime this month. We have to see how she is with our current dog, though. And they do look a bit like fighting scars, but almost as if someone was hitting her with a metal pole or something. I haven't seen her in real life yet so I'm not exactly sure of her background. To Maugrim-> It's called the Manitoba Gremlin Pitbull Rescue. Their website is http://www.manitobapitbullrescue.com but they're not always up-to-date on everything as the owners of the Rescue don't have a very good computer. You're lucky you have a pitbull rescue where you live. In my town's ASPCA center they just put the dogs in small little cages and leave them in there barking till they're freed by a new owner. The pit bulls there along with the other bigs dog are kept in the back. They have a Doberman,A couple pitbulls, a lazy husky, and two german shepherds in the back looking like they were about to rip your head off. Except for the husky. He just sat there and panted XD
