Hmm... I guess if you look at the fact that he can talk, he is pretty intelligent.

I had problems when I tried to change (it was too long). Now my it has changed back to my old one in some places on the forums but it is still ShebaDove {wolf} elsewhere! I will pm a mod about it.

Steele was smart, of course. He got Balto lost by ruining his tree-marking trail, he stopped Balto from making the sled team in the first place, blahdyblah. What happened in the boiler room wasn't Steele being stupid at all, in fact he thought Jenna was hitting on him majorly.
However, he wasn't so smart in some places. He didn't go back to Nenana when they were lost, he bolted forward in a blizzard due to rage, he fought Balto when he shouldn't have, and he probably shouldn't of excluded Balto from the sled team either, as Balto, being part wolf, has excellent scent and might of been able to guide the team back to Nenana.
So he's neither, really.

His own cunning got him in the end, if you'll notice. He was clever...to a point. He allowed his ego to get the better of him, and that was his downfall. If he was truely intellegent, then he would have done the right thing and wouldn't have fought Balto (or stayed put to just freeze.  )
