Yeah I have to admit thats pretty strange reviewing, so they base part of a movie review on how well it did in cinema's? That's like saying "Film A" is better then "Film B" because it had more advertising... but then again now that I think of it when Balto actually came out some reviewers just compared it to Toy Story

You can't base your opinion only on the others's reviews. I have often liked some films really much which got bad ratings, while I disliked other films that everyone praised.
It's only a matter of personal feelings, a rating can never be objective.

Yeah, that's especially true to a gamer. The only other reviewer to give Balto a decent rating was Roeper.

The reviews did not just compare it to Toy Story. They compared Balto to Disney in general - if it's not Disney, it's not worth watching. If you ask me, that shows incredible short-sightedness. I actually find Balto more entertaining than some so-called Disney 'classics.' (e.g. The Jungle Book or Finding Nemo.)

Hey, TV Guide has a Local Channels search function! I found that Balto is being shown on a Comcast channel 3 times on October 4th!

All I know is that sometimes it's been shown on the Disney Channel in the US a few times... the last time I recall seeing it on TV was the day before I joined this site!

I just haven't a clue when they'd show it again, but I guess checking the internet or the TV Guide would be useful if you do it often.

I just realized that I joined exactly a year after you. I had watched Balto (not on TV) the day before I joined :P

Anyways, Comcast channel 373 (Starz Kids and Family) is showing it in 10 days, and then again 4 days afterwards. Channel 150 (Encore) is showing it the day after that. You guys can check it out with a search on http://www.tvguide.com

I had a look on TVGuide.com. Of course, Balto is given a two star review. Typical.
Strangely enough, Balto II is given a positive review that says that it is superior to its predecessor.

I don't think I'll ever understand professional reviewers...
