Well... just my opinion...

Come on !!! This is not new rules !
Well maybe there is one new about the other fanart, but the other ones exist all ready. I remember Zekee teeling me those on msn at the begining.

Well, well. I think this situation is my fault, in fact. The problem here, is that I didn't write all the specific rules in the fanart rules, mostly because I forgot some of them.
So I think the best, would be for me to list what I agree with and what I don't, and write them in the "official" fan art rules thread.

Any gallery will be uploaded on the site if there isn't at least one Balto or TLK Fanart.

True : not all the mods may not this, but this should be the case. And, I may even expand it in the future, to a percent (for example, at least half of the pictures should be Balto related)
But this will only work if mods check if the pictures labeled as "Balto pictures" are really that.

You are not allowed to use real photos in your pictures. It's only ok if it's a comemorative pic (9/11, SI...etc)
I have never been really clear on this. So I will have to take position.
I think no real photo should be used. Keep that for the fan images section, where you can mix photos and drawings, but fanarts should only be drawings.
(EDIT : Well I checked the rules, and I did say clearly that they are not accepted. I may have accepted some in the past, but then it was a mistake.)

You are not allowded to send gif images on the site. Gif are only allowded for ANIMATION.
Here it's my fault : this used to be true, but not anymore. Gif were useful for specifying if a picture is an animation or not, but it should be acceptable to use it for "fixed" pictures too. It should be considered just like any other format.

One more time, no sexual picture.
True, but it's not always easy to tell which is a sexual picture and which is not...Unforunately, this has to be left to the moderators opinion, and to the visitors who can report pictures if they're shocked by one.

There is gonna be a restriction about anthro pictures.
Just like for anthro, there is also gonna be a restriction on other Fanart. Okami, link...etc are just fine as soon as there not too many. We are here because we all love Balto, not because of okami or Zelda.
About off topic: No horse,Cat, Tiger ,fantasy creature like griffin, or unicornes, car, plane, train other humans that the ones that appears on the Balto movie...etc will be accepted.

I group these, because it's all the same thing : the 'others' drawings should be kept to a limit. Yes, we accept anthros, but only if there are "normal" dogs and wolves drawings in the gallery. And anthros should not be considered as "Balto" or "Lion king" drawings.

About the type of the drawing, please don't pic 'balto' or 'tlk' if it's not a fan drawing.
That was is obvious, and the only thing we can do about this is : mods, check the submitted drawings before updating them. If there are mistakes (voluntar or not), correct it, and send a PM to the author if you feel necessary.

I hope all this will help clear things up.

All right, I realize that I was out of line with the lot of my comments. Obviously, you are my superior for being a Fanart Moderator longer than I. But, as any concerned artist, I was reluctant to accept these rules.

I asked Steet some questions myself (which I posted in his "FA rules" topic), and got it all cleared up. I do, however, apologize. There is no excuse for how I acted towards you. I was under the impression that you, alone, went to make new rules (which I dwelled on, not considering anything else). I should have been more open-minded to your position, but I wasn't (and I shame myself for it).

Now, I do stand next to my pro-cons on the rules (posted in purple). However, I was rather upset getting a PM saying "one or more of your pictures will be deleted", which led me to believe you were going to delete some of my pictures for being off-topic/gorey.

As for the gore issue, this is what Steet said:

I've checked your gallery, yours seem to be fine, but at the same time it would have to be the limit. As long as it's only marks, ok. If it goes further, no.

I think, the "soft gore" (marks and blood, just no excruciating detail) should be accepted. I have noticed, that with the soft gore, people are more a fan of it. However, when if comes to the hard gore (detailed gore), people are disgusted.

What I think we should do is make a "committee" of the moderators, discuss issues, and decide new rules together (since people have found ways around our current rules). Possibly, two "committe members" from each moderating position (i.e. Fan art, Images, Shot box, role play, forums, etc.), and then propose our new, in-depth rules to the webmaster/administrators, and they can then decide which one(s) to keep, and which to "toss" (much like the Branches of Government).

I understand completely that this is a Balto site, and therefore, Balto-related pics are the main priority when it comes to uploading fanart. But the rules DO say that you can draw any animal as long as it's a species from the movie. That being the case, we're allowed to draw dogs, right? Well, I enjoy drawing Naruto characters as dogs (as well as lions). I have a lot of fanart of TLK and Balto in both my galleries...but does that mean someone is gonna come into my gallery and delete all my Naruto dog/lion pictures...because the mod doesn't particularly care for anime? Even though I'm complying with the rules?

I also have some pics in my gallery of Wolves standing with horses, and Balto and TLK characters AS horses. Will they be deleted too? Even though they're fanarts?

Well, you're pretty much already disobeing them by having a gallery here, to me...What's the difference between a gallery here and on a site like deviantart, except that this is a site dedicated to one specific theme?

Again : "off topic" drawings are accepted as long as they respect the rules. But they shouldn't be the biggest number of drawings in your gallery. For now, I only ask for ONE picture that is not "off topic", but I may request more in the future. (although, the new rules would be applied only when you would send new drawings, so you wouldn't risk seeing your drawings deleted anyway)

Okay, I think I understand. So, as long as my gallery retains its even 'fan drawing:original drawing' ratio, I should be fine, right?

That's okey, no problem. I understand that you was angry at me about the pm...sorry, but I did sent them to all of the member (and I've absolutly not finished lol) and it was a lil simple.

I've not deleted your pics. I understand what Steet said, and it's ok. It's just very hard to say what is and what is not off topic or too bloody....I thaught if we forbid all bloody pic it will be easier to know, but I was wrong and I apologise :3

Aw and btw, I'm not like 'a fanart cheaf mod' because I'm here longer than you, I'm just like you, just a fanart mod, the big cheaf, well that's Steet ^___^

Tigers should be acceptable on LKS. Tiger-wolf/dog/whatever hybrids can go on both, I think. Cats can go on LKS if needed, I think... also, it's okay to do one fantasy-type character once in a while ;P.
