Iams and other bad dog foods don't always cut a dog's life short. Whoever said " I fed my purebred German Shepherd Iams all his life, an' he never 'ad any problems. An' he lived to 14, when most German Shepherds live 'till 10!"
Here's what's wrong with you're statement. German Shepherds, Labs, Golden Retrievers, Standard Poodle, and dogs of the same size average lifespan is about 12 to 13, not ten. German Shepherds aren't giant breeds. I can see you don't know that much about dogs. What did your dog die from? Did he/she have a dull, sparse coat or tartar on its teeth? Next time you get a dog, feed it raw or organic/holistic.
Yupik--Does/did your dog living on Pedigree have ear problems? Commonly dogs that eat Pedigree or Alpo get ear infections.
#1, your not a vet or certified dog nutritionist.
#2, i have read on Several sites that average is about 10-11 years of age.
#3, he died of old age, most likely, liver failure, becuase 24 hrs before his death he wouldnt eat a thing. organs shut down as a dog dies, iams doggie food had nothing to do with it.
besides, Iams was the
only dog food his tummy could even take, as german shepherds are prone to sensitive stomachs, any other type of food made him have diareah.
his entire life, his hind legs bulky and hard with muscle, muscular neck, healthy as can be coat, despite what they say, iams is not a bad dog food, it aint cheap either.
here he is 11 yrs, tell me this dog doesnt look healthy.
