As a Christian, I believe in creation, but I also believe in evolution. I think that the Creation story is allegorical and that it ties in with theories of evolution.

Now, I really can't say that I have any solid proof about creation either, but it's what I choose to believe. I can see why an atheist would find the theory of creation illogical, but as a Christian, I see it as being more logical than a theory which suggests that primitive lifeforms spontaneously generated out of nothing and eventually evolved to become all of the creatures we see everyday. I was waiting for you answer Dingo, remember that debate about creation we had around one year ago? You said you don't have any proof, so here's one of mine: carbonium 18. The quantity of carbonium 18 found in the bones of dinosaurus clearly prooves that they existed betwen 230 and 65 millions years ago (for a period of 165 million of years). And #2: the human DNA and the chimpanzee(sp?) DNA is for 98% exactly the same, so we are very very similar. You know, I'm not against you, but the genetic theory is not totally reliable. For instance, scientists compared DNA of several species of birds and came out with the idea that storks, herons, flamingoes, eagles, loons, grebes, vultures, hawks, penguins, petrels, pelicans and several other birds were related, but now the scientific comunity thinks that they were all different groups of birds that developed genetic homeoplasis independently, instead of coming from the same ancestor. I do believe that chimps and humans are the closest living relatives, but most of the genetic similarity is parallel evolution, since chimps' and humans' last common ancestor lived 6-7 million years ago, rather than much recently.

Evolution, no doubt about it. It might be that there is still about 0.0000001 percent of the theory of evolution that remains unproven. But the theory of creation, in contrast, still lacks any evidence whatsoever. That's probably why creationists always try to disprove the theory of evolution; it's to hide the fact that their own theory of creation is supported by no proof whatsoever.

When I first saw the title of this thread created by the "Miss Most Controversial Thread Creator of All Time for Charlie Wolf to Ever Encounter" herself, Shebawolf1, my first thought was:"Oh my Lord Almighty, NOT YET ANOTHER ONE OF THESE THREADS AGAIN!!!!!" Anyways, I and another dude were temporarily blacklisted over at http://www.bungie.net for quite aggressively "defending the Faith", so to speak, so at least now (thankfully) I know how to handle these topics without arguing over them too heavily. I'm for Creation all the way, since I'm a Christian and all , but I must ask, why are the majority of people that I ever seem to encounter over the Internet on practically any non-Christian site almost always for evolution (or, to a much lesser degree, theistic evolution)??? It makes me feel so sad, depressed, and lonely out here... *Howls mournfully.* Oh well... at least I know that the equation Charlie A. Wolf= will ALWAYS be true!!!!!!! -Charlie.

This is Not in response to anything anyone has said. but I can assure you that if flame wars/arguments etc occur on this post I wil ask for my own post to be locked. I really don't want to do this so please do post your opinions but don't argue.

Lots and lots of reason to believe, vs. no reason to believe. I don't find it a hard choice. But that's not to say I don't have or value faith, or think it's good to have it; heck, I believe in a lot of "paranormal" things that lack scientific proof.

Yeah, I believe in those people. XD No, actually, I don't really know what they believe. (I'm a Streisand fan though.) I meant like ghosts, ESP, etc. etc. etc. But that really has naught to do with the topic. Again, I think evolution is way more likely, but that one certainly can believe in both, or purely in Creation. It's a free world. Edit in response to your last: I know, you're a jokester.

Well actually, I was A WHOLE LOT nicer and less-aggressive than I wanted to be, and was just pointing out something serious. I mean, come on, haven't you noticed that a lot of her more-recent threads have been about (sometimes) VEEEEERY controversial topics lately (well, for ME at least...)??? Not to sound rude or anything, but I'm just tired of people starting a thread about something that they very well know could potentially cause problems in the future, decide to take the risk with it and post it anyway, a flame-war soon breaks out eventually, the offender(s) are all dealt with accordingly, the thread's locked, and ABSOLUTELY NONE of the blame is given to the thread's original creator AT ALL. Next, and while I have an initial mutual respect for everyone here at this site, I definitely do NOT wish to be reprimanded like you're the (seemingly) all-powerful parent and I'm the tiny, defenseless child, understand; I've got enough of that in my life from my own parents alone, and by now, I'm absolutely sick of dealing with it. Final word about all of this- try not to be immature and/or, most of all, BIASED, against me or ANYONE ELSE ON THIS ENTIRE SITE, O.K.; it just makes the place a little bit better and all-around friendlier around here, that's all. -Charlie.
