They are beutiful.  IMO you should only shade the outlines between the colours.

If its to much trouble just say 
Hehe! These look great! Just think about how many fans you could annoy with these... XD... nicely done! You said you use MSPaint... I'm guessing you used Paint to draw the character like the first one - you drew Kiona in paint? Then used the other program to shade/edit Kiona and put her into the original screenshot?
