Well, it is Universal...No wonder why it has vanished. :?

Anyway, I would be interested to see it too. Apparently they released it on DVD, but only is some countries :

http://www.amazon.fr/Were-Back-Dinosaur ... B0001XLVI6

(I think it's an Australian release)

Don't ask me why there and not everywhere...I really don't understand that company. All the other companies have released all their films on DVDs, even special editions, most of the time everywhere in the world, and them? They just don't care or don't remember they have these films in their catalogs. Pffff.

Apparently...because movies like these are only going to get harder and harder to find. A DVD would be heaven right now, but, I'd be foolish to hold my breath on that...maybe when companies hold back a movie like that, it adds more value to the original? I dunno...just a theory.

I'm going to a video store later today to see if they have it, and if they don't, SOMONE's gonna go to bed tonight without hair...

I think this movie was okay. To me, that Professer Screweyes dude had to be one of the stupidest villians in history

Now, that, I'd kinda have to agree with. I suppose they just needed an antagonist whose character is the exact opposite of his brother's, who of course has to be a protagonist. One is an inventor, the other's a circus ring leader. What accomplishments. XDDD

Well, that wasn't the reason I had in mind...For one,*spoiler alert!* he had an actual screw for an eye. Not to mention the fact that he looked like the Cryptkeeper's long-lost twin brother!

Err..it's not really much of a spoiler to say that Mr. SCREWEYE has a SCREW for an EYE. XDDD It's like his trademark characteristic.

EDIT: I went to the video story today...I'm going to bed without hair. XP

I found out he's a hadrosaur. XD I know. Dinosaur geek. ^^

Well, I was at my local library this morning, and I thought it'd be funny to check out the children's book version of the movie. I had to comb through the archives, but I finally got my hands on it, along with another Hudson Talbott book called Your Own Pet Dinosaur; a Guide by Dr. Rex. Though the book anly accounts for about HALF of the movie (there was no wish machine or Dr. Screweyes), Talbott's writing is REEEEEALY quite unique and very humorous!! It was tons of fun. :D

I think you can get it on VHS off Amazon or Ebay. At least Balto got a DVD - poor We're Back is still stuck on VHS until further notice.

(But then again, the Region 1 Balto DVD is not really that much better than the VHS)

Well, like steet said, there's actually a DVD version of the movie, but it's only been released in select countries -- the US not being one of them. It's getting me really quite infuriated, actually. And yeah...most stores now only sell DVD's now...and even if they did sell VHS's, they probably wouldn't have a movie as old as this, so the only option left is to buy online...and if you're going to do that, you may as well get the DVD...

*adds to my birthday wishlist* XDDD

EDIT: Bleeeh...I found the video on YouTube. Not exactly the best quality in the world, but I'm not one to complain. It was ripped off a premiere on Cartoon Network, so it must've been eons ago. XP Anyway...

I don't know how long it's been since anyone last laid eyes on this thread. So 'm blowing the dust off and reviving it to tell you some good news...

As many of you know, or knew, the entire feature film could be found on YouTube, but after a copyright issue, with Universal, it had to be taken down. I've done a bit of searching and found a place where they have rehosted the whole movie -- all 70 minutes of it, and it can be found on veoh or hulu.

http://www.veoh.com/videos/v16888613fNG ... s&order=tr

(The thing with veoh is that you need to download the latest flash player plug-in in order to see their videos. It can be a bit of a hasstle, so if this doesn't work out for you at first, try the hulu link below: )

http://www.hulu.com/watch/48167/were-ba ... aurs-story

I was reminded of how great a story this was in doing a bit of digging. These videos aren't broken up into segment and the quality of the video is much much better compared to what was once found on YouTube. Either way, I hope it sparks someone's interest. Enjoy!!

I seriously love you Suka for posting this topic! I think Louie is such a cute character and the dinosaurs are so sweet. I just love how Spielberg added Jurassic Park being the feature played in the background at the movie theater during the "roll back the rock" part. I am such a dinosaur girl! XD

Usually I disagree with adding full films on video sites, but in that case, I find that very awful from Universal to do this. They didn't even make any efforts to RELEASE IT on Dvd since the original release (I'm not counting the one-country release...), and now they're preventing people from trying to watch it, in bad quality??

Seriously, I really think that the animated films licences given to Universal should be removed from them, and given back to Spielberg/Amblin/Dreamworks/whatever, as they are really doing NONSENSE with them. They are DITCHING them, they should have NO RIGHT on them.

As for the film itself, I've seen it since then. Top animation, bad story - a shame. It's a pretty strange film though - certainly not the usual animated film. It's pretty dark and creepy at times. Still enjoyable though.
