Really they are not that bad and if they where not in the first film then would be not much of a plot would there? Ok in the secound i can agree that there wasn't much use for them and the 1 1/2 it was ment to be funny and in some parts it was.

If Timon and Pumbaa weren't in TLK,then how would Simba have survived?

I think Pumbaa is the most underappreciated character in the Lion King. He's so sweet and funny.

I have to disagree with you guys, cause I love Timon in my opinion. Of course I'd say he really does have a purpose in a movie. C'mon guys. Lions for the whole movie? I mean some of you do have a point that there should have been more Simba and Nala in a movie,(which I totally respect and all) but there wouldn't have been much humor in the movie if they weren't there, let alone funny. That's just a tad harsh. Of course that's my opinion, and I love lions and all, but, GIVE TIMON AND PUMBAA A BREAK DARNIT! I also think Timon and Pumbaa weren't just "goof offs," there were some parts in the film in which they weren't ALWAYS goofing. They didn't have as much parts as Simba, y'know. So why are you complaining? Plus, what coulda saved Simba from dieing? Vultures? I hate the fact that people hate characters because they think theyre annoying, let alone, the worst, JUST BECAUSE THEY HATE 'EM. POOR EXCUSE.

Finally, someone who agrees with me! I love Timon too! I don't understand why all these guys on the site keep saying that Timon is annoying......... I mean, what is their PROBLEM? Out of all of the characters, I see Timon as the representation of pure, childlike innocence. (This goes for both The Lion King Trilogy and the Timon and Pumbaa series.) He's CUTE! I also confess that I'm a lot like him. For example, I can mimic his voice and even do his Hula dance! (Seriously, I watched him and learned all his moves!) Anyway, I just don't understand some of these comments. For me, Timon always makes me smile. I just have a really soft spot for him. I also love Timon's Ma, and Uncle Max. Together, the three of them are simply adorable!

All of you people should be greatful of them. Guess who saved Simba? Exactly. Simba WOULD have been buzzard kibble if it weren't for them. You all need to can it! They are adorable little creatures who deserve respect! LK1 1/2 (LK3) Wasn't horrible. Can you imagine how much work was put into that? And for what? Hard critique? So, before you all flip out and start blaming them for screwing everything up..think about who saved Simba.

I think everyone should be a lot more thankful for Timon and Pumbaa. (Whoever said he 'hates' Timon is not.... even.... THINKING!)
Timon and Pumbaa should get the same respect that George Bailey got in It's A Wonderful Life. Remember all the things that the angel Clarence showed George what the world would be like if he never existed? Think of that.
Let's see.....
If Timon and Pumbaa were never around to save Simba, there simply would be no LION KING! Hello? The buzzards would have eaten him! Scar would have succeeded in his plan of killing Simba! Scar would never have been dethroned, and he probably would have killed Sarabi. Pumbaa would never have been around to save Zazu! The hyenas would have eventually eaten him! Ma wouldn't have her special little boy, and she, Uncle Max, and the rest of the meerkat colony might have stayed underground forever! And with Scar in charge, the entire colony would have been eaten by hyenas! Kiara, being the daughter of Simba and Nala, would have never existed to fall in love with Kovu, and bring the two prides together as one! Kovu, never having met Kiara, would have stayed on Zira's side and would have become the heir to the throne! Vitani would never have had a change of heart, and the list just goes on, and on, and ON!!!!!
What would happen to Nala? Who knows? Since Simba died, Maybe Nala would have married NUKA!!!!
You've got to admit, these guys are heroes!!!!! I look at this and am amazed what important roles they have!
