Hmm not really. I am not a fan of History, I don't like history mainly as school subject.
But I am a tiny winy bit interested in contemporan History, as you said WW2. But not overrated.

Yes, I am incredibly interested in WWII, mainly in ground combat and the parts the paratroopers played in combat. I also love to look over battle strategies of ground assaults and compare viewings of the war from both the Allied and Axis sides. In short, I'm into ground warfare in WWII. xD

I'm definitely interested in it, I just don't know too much about it apart from the basic school-level stuff as well as the Fullmetal Alchemist movie. Speaking of which, for anyone who's seen the movie and knows a bit about the World Wars, to what extent were the events portrayed in the movie accurate to the real history?

I have a fascination with the Winter War between Russia and Finland. Here you have Finland, low population, mostly farmers, who match up against the industrial and military volume of the Soviet Union. The Finns were outnumbered 50 to 1 and they still manage to hold the Russians off.

Finland was a strange nation in where they stood in the war. Technically, they were considered Axis because the Russians were attacking them and they mostly used German equipment, but it was the Russians who were the aggressors so the Allies were upset at Russia attacking Finland. So the entire world supported Finland. Volunteers from around the world signed up for the Finnish army, such as Swedes, Danes, Norwegians, Hungarians, Scandinavian-Americans, and Scandinavian-Canadians. There was even a volunteer from tropical Jamaica, boy he must've went into climate shock. Also, actor Christopher Lee (he plays Saruman, Count Dooku) was among one of the volunteers who fought in the Winter War.
