I would say 3 are fine, and the only way I could justify the fourth one is just like the way in the cartoons possibly they speak a human language among themselves and it just sounds like animal sounds to us , but that theory itself might sound fantastical/ignorant/ silly

idk i think animal lauguage is enterly different then ours in my oppion, every part of any animals life is based on a higher form of feeling and as such they speak to each other and to us because its in a sense universal. its like, even if u dont speak cat or dog, u can tell what ur pet want by the way he/she acts at that moment, example my pup wants me off the cpu, she'll bark a few times whine, growl and then sit on the phone cord and knock me offline or push the cpus botton (warnning never teach ur beagle to turn ur cpu off u will regret it). but to her fellow dogs as well as our cat when he was alive i'd witteness the different looks and stares they'd give each other and the close bond they developed in the five-seven years she had with him. I think the speech was different but thats just me. Oh wait another stange thing has anyone had their dog stare at them for a while and start to get the thought like "fido wants this or that," only to have him/her wag their tail in approval like they sent u the msg? my dog does that alot she's creepy
