There is such a thing as "short stories", you know. I don't think you (or anyone else here) could write a well-written story of many pages in a week, and I don't expect anyone to.
I'm planning that the challenges will allow people at least one week (maybe two, depending on the theme subject), so it should give writers enough time to write a short piece (usually about a thousand words or less, unless the challenge specifies an actual number of words that can be used).
However, if you wish, you could use your entry (after voting results are released, of course) to start a longer story. Only if you want to, mind you. (You might want to mention that the story was started as a contest entry too, if you feel to)
