The movie doesn't seem to interest me. I'm not really a pixtar fan. But I do like 'some', pixtar movies like Over the Hedge, Incredibles...

Over the Hedge is Dreamworks, not Pixar.

I really wanna see it, it looks great! PIXAR has really outdone themself, I believe, and I haven't even seen any of it except what I've seen on commercials. It looks beautifully animated! It looks like a great comedy and looks like a great story that kids and adults alike can enjoy! :D
"What...is...that..?"
*silence* "I don't really know." :P

It looks cute. I'm probably gonna go see it with my mom. If its still playing in August. Still it looks well animated and funny.

To me, after you get past a talking, New York accented Rat living in Paris... the storyline is wicked predictable and generic. If someone were to introduce the concept of Ratatouille to an animated company 15 years ago (Let's go with Amblimation cause they were big back then), they'd shun the idea. The plot is way too simple and is not worth the money and effort that would be put into it for a 2-D animated movie.

I have to agree with you on the concept of how the story will turn out, but you tend to see that on a lot of movies, not just Pixar ones. If you think about it enough, any movie can be linked with another.

Plus, I thought simple plots was what they were aiming for? Especially when your trying to appeal to young audiences, you want something that they can easily follow and understand.

But if you think it's just another medium for a story that has been repeated countless times before, now THAT I'd have to argue with you on.

What? The movie was released a few months ago, and still no "real" reviews?
I saw it yesturday, and guess what : I LOVED it!
And you probably know how much I dislike the Pixar films. But this one is truly different. To me, this is BY FAR the best 3D film ever made.
The story is very well thought out, which is one of the things I usually don't like with Pixar (which only focus on stupid jokes rather than background story)
With Ratatouille, I just can't see any bad side. I just loved it, period. You probably have to see it to understand this, and I'm not good enough in english to spend too much time, but : it's really worth it.
I'm a bit like Ego in the film, actually : I usually give bad reviews, but that one is a very good Ratatouille
I'm only an inch from deciding to make a site dedicated to it, and I mean it...Ah, if only I had more time...

I'd have to agree on that one. The movie itself looks very pretty, but the basics are the same.

I bought this DVD. It isn't my favorite Pixar film, but like all Pixar films, I love it more every time I see it. X3 I'm not going to start obsessing as I did over others (like Nemo, MI, Incredibles, Cars), but...I do want to go see if Barnes & Noble has any of the books about the movie tomorrow...^^ Just to peruse. I love looking at the concept art and backdrops and whatnot.
My favorite characters were Anton Ego (the food critic) and Horst (the German sous-chef under Skinner at the restaurant.)

Because tomorrow my school's Thanksgiving break begins, the sixth grade teachers apparently didn't want to teach us anything new today, because without practice, most children would probably forget it over a five day break, we watched Ratatouille.
I'll tell you what it was. Bizarre. More bizarre than A Nightmare Before Christmas, and that was a bizarre movie.
I loved it.
I had read what the entire movie's plot was during the summer, so I pretty much knew what would happen. But the movie came out in a way I didn't expect. I just don't know what it was, it was just different. Better than I imagined. Softer, more unique, something along those lines.
The animation is spectacular. At some points, like when Remy was being washed down the sewer system, it seriously looked like they had filmed water rushing down a sewer and then animated a rat and carefully stuck him in there, instead of animating water in a sewer and a rat.
I can only think of one thing that could have made the movie better.
No have made the kissing scene so long and, uh, strange looking.
But still, it was among the best of all the animated movies that I've seen.

I saw Ratatouille and I loved it. I think it's one of Pixar's best, and yet on the UltimateDisney site - it's given a lackluster review. Apparently, it wasn't 'epic' enough because it wasn't set in a surreal world or in a wild place. Whatever. I think it's much better than Finding Nemo.

(Although it's not the first time rats have been associated with rataouille - anyone who'se watched Fawlty Towers will know what I'm talking about!)
