No, a fox is part of the dog family which includes:

Dogs, Foxes, wolfs, Dingos, Coyotes, Miacis and so on.....

But!............ The dog family began with a cat like animal called a Miacus, which desended into a Cynodictus, And a Daphneaus which desended into a bear. It is belifed that tigers arn't far off from desended from the daphneaus. I tried to type in the family tree but the writeing dosn't come out very clear. Try looking it up.

foxes are part of the canine family, its related to all animals in the dog family not just wolves.
