Has been posted a few times already, but... whatever XD

My all-time favorite: Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron (Zimmer/Adams)
Definitely a milestone in the Filmmusic history of animated movies. Zimmer´s Run Free composition manages where everyone failed. Holding a great emotion over a few minutes is extremely difficult, so here goes my absolute respect on that masterpiece... The only negative thing would be "The long road back". However, the music was following a straight, instrumental way. This track came a bit untimely. But regardless, it´s a great Soundtrack that everyone should have, seriously.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (Badelt)
There isn´t much to say about this one. It´s all in everything a great score with a huge orchestration.

The Last Samurai (Zimmer)
A great proof that you can also make your way through with good harmonics. Excellent smooth atmosphere lead by eastern woodwinds, strings and pizzicatto strings. Recommended!

The Da Vinci Code - Sakrileg (Zimmer)
Slightly too dark themed for my musical taste, but that´s probably the reason why it fits so well to the movie. The composition "Chevaliers De Sangreal" (13) is probably the highlight of the score. An amazing uplifting main theme with astounding Choirs and strings.

Other recommedations would be Tears of the Sun (Zimmer), Backdraft (Zimmer), Metal Gear Solid 3 (H. G. Williams) and The Lion King (Zimmer). The Orchestral performance in Happy Feet (Powell) is awesome as well... At least for me since I like marcato violins and strong F Horns...

I could list some more, but I´m too lazy for that right now.

That one isn't bad the Spirit one. I like Bryan adams! :D

Nice post! What you said about PotCaribbean, "It´s all in everything a great score with a huge orchestration." <-- would be why I love it!

And I'll check the Last Sumari... do you have any more information on it? I'll look and see if any libraries have it.

Haha yes, PotC was played by an orchestra with over 100 players. A sound like that is impossible to create with software :P

You can find the Last Samurai OST... mostly in stores
I could send it to you as well if you want it.

Yeah, I once played in an orchestra of 100+ players, it was AMAZING!!

Do you know of a place where I could listen to samples of the music without downloading it? I can check iTunes, as well, I have that. Thanks for the information, Dan!

[Favorite] Ones that I own:Fiddler on the Roof*

Hey! Isn't "Fiddles on Fire" part of that? I've played it, that one is lots of fun! Wow, you have a lot of pieces that you like, and a few like FotRoof and TSoMusic, I recognize! I've played that one, too.

I'm not sure, "Fiddles on Fire" doesn't sound familiar to me... it could be part of the score though, I don't know. The soundtrack is pretty much all songs with words- I love the songs "Miracle of Miracles" and "If I were a Rich Man" (which, in my opinion, is a waaaaaaaaaaay better song than that rip-off "If I were a Rich Girl") and many others. I love musicals^^

I forgot to mention the Finding Nemo soundtrack- I recently dug that one back out and have been listening to it, it's very pretty :D

Yeah, I think FoFire is part of it... I have a few selections from Finding Nemo, I agree, it is very good!

1. O-kami Official Soundtrack
released by Suleputer in 2006. (Import only)
Crisp traditional Japanese theme with the modern world of synths and full orchestra. Best Soundtrack ever!

2. Balto Soundtrack
released by MCA Records Inc. in 1995.
Decent soundtrack with a good '3/4ths' ensemble. James Horner is creative and innovative with low brass and strings.

3. Digimon Adventures, Zero Two, and Tamers - Best Hit Parades Soundtracks
released by RMC Records and Toei Productions in 1999, 2001, and 2003. (Imports only)
Very creative, yet while all audio is in Japanese, it is very enjoyable to listen to.

These are the ones I own. I have a few more I like, however, do not possess.

I didn't know it had a soundtrack? I sooo badly wanted to play that game!

Really, are you a Collins fan? he wrote some of Brother bear, too... I wouldn't say I am a fan, but I think he writes really great music. And he plays Muk and Luk well too, he was their voice actor.

Same here! Spirit has a lot of great scores, and Eragon is just amazingly well written.

When I think of the Lion King soundtrack, I always remember the Wildebeest Stampede score. Very hard hitting and just all around awesome.
