Well ok, I can, but what you maybe don't understand is that for getting more people on the site, you need to get them outside of the site. Putting a video here wouldn't make any difference...
I need you to add links to the site and petition on other sites. For example, if you have a Deviantart account, add a link to Balto source on your front page. This is called a backlink, and this helps getting more visitors and get the site better ranked in the search engines. Maybe I'll try to improve this aspect on the site, because I feel most of the visitors don't really get this and stay "passive", when I'm sure most of you would like to help.

okay. I'll get It finished up and upload it to youtube and add a link. I'll let you post it on the site. hope it helps.

I signed it a few days after it was up. Or maybe a few weeks after...Eh, either way I signed it. I don't know why someone who's a Balto fan wouldn't...

I think I was one of the first people to sign it... please, people, you must sign it! You're not a loyal Balto fan if you don't.

Some people - like myself - aren't allowed to sign or even do anything like the petition... you have to give your email, and some other info, and altogether, I'm just not allowed. I'm sure other people have parents who would say the same thing... but I'm sure a few have signed without even asking, which I know my parents would most likely take my account of BS.

Why not? Because I easily produced my own Special Edition of Balto with Final Cut Studio. Discounted screen panning, corrected colors, and uncompressed the IFO & BIN DVD files into a native 1920 x 1080 resolution -as opposed to a cropped 4:3 version set at 640 x 480- with Final Cut Pro. Added uncompressed PCM audio as compared to standard AU3 audio with Soundtrack Pro and added finished menus- with art and movie clips I created- with DVD Studio Pro 3.8.

I could sign the petition, but I don't expect much accomplishment out of this proposal. Universal Studios has more purposeful uses for their DVD Menu Designers and Animators for their new featured films that have had more success than that of Balto. Unless they came out with an Anniversary Edition like Disney does with their films like "The Fox and the Hound" 25th Anniversary VHS tape I have, I have little insight that a Special Edition DVD is expected in the future. I strongly believe that there's a better chance for Balto: Special Edition to be released on Blu-ray before a regular DVD is to be released.

Like Steet, I didn't expect anyone to say this :?...It's not that much work.
And then people complain about Balto not having that much attention...

I signed it, I think I was number 95 to sign O.o. Oh well that doesn't matter, at least I signed it.

I already said it : you're not forced to enter true information if you want to keep being anonymous. If there was the choice to remove these as required fields, I would have done it.

A tweaked dvd can't get to the level of a real restored version of a film...
BTW, you should probably have used the european DVD instead of the american one, you would have real widescreen instead of cropped 4/3. I don't think that with any software you could get all the missing parts of the picture...

I have seen less popular films getting much better treatments...Who said The last unicorn? Ferngully?

Blu-ray? You must be kidding...You really have no idea of the real market. You can still find VHS versions for the animated films, while it's impossible to find VHS for any other kind of films, for a good reason : children are very late adopters, whent it comes to getting new equipments. Especially because of price issues.
I can assure you that the DVD format will be used for a very long time for the animated films, before any new format will take its place...I would say, not before 5 years...

The picture in the DVD image isn't lost, NSTC televisions crops 4:3 and the 18% of the image; the DVD keeps the image 1:1 (although the Region 1 boxes claim 4:3 because a set standard television runs a screen aspect (and panning) of 4:3. Newer DVDs however are split into both 16:9 and 4:3 disks. Older disks were in letterbox 1:1 format, which allowed a single disk to cooperate with both 16:9 and 4:3 televisions smoothly.

Just be happy that the DVD of Balto was released... seriously.

Yeah... that was sarcasm. With the low popularity of Blu-ray (although I'm in the minority that purchased a Blu-ray player that wasn't just a PS3), I mockingly state that there are better chances a special edition will be be released on blu-ray before DVD- which means a special edition DVD isn't going to happen... period.
