Actually it aint being much appreciative, it's just Bambi is perfect enough the way it is like TLK, now after 63 years of no interference with the story line Disney or whoever develops a midquel for it which will make Bambi the same thing as TLK with its DTV movie TLK 1/2. But for now this DTV midquel may be ok but we'll have to see.

Well, even if it will be a good little movie, people will go "See? I told you so!" because they don't want to prove themselves wrong. :?

The studio who is in charge of this film is the one that will get closed soon (disneytoon australia), and from everything I've heard about it this will probably be the best DTV "sequel" Disney has ever made. (at least on the technical side)
I haven't seen the original Bambi yet...so I can't say anything else.

Really? You should get it on DVD, Steet. The sound and picture is much, much better.

I'm not fond of the "mute" animated films...I didn't like Spirit for that reason. But I will watch it when I can.

There is no other animation that is mute unfortunately.
Bambi is not, so you will like it if you don't like the Spirit style.
And it's very touching

I remember the original very well. And the animals did talk. They all talked...except the rabid, crazy dogs(of course).

And yes, TLK 1/2 ruiened TLK. Especially the "Can you feel the love tonight" scene. They really messed that up. All those things should have happened to Simba and Nala just because! Not because Timon and Pumbaa were responsible! Grr.

Okay, okay.

Let's focus. This new Bambi movie is not needed, but does answer the question of "What happened when Bambi went away with his father (AKA the Great Prince of the Forest)?" But what I don't understand is why they changed the official title from the better sounding "Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest" (I think that's what it was) to the short and misleading "Bambi II"? It makes no sense since the storyline takes place during the middle of the first film and not after the first film like most normal sequels should?

The art style is beautiful (I've seen the trailer on the official site) and very true to the original. I think I can understand the basic storyline, which seems to deal with Bambi's father getting in touch with his son and all. It sounds good to me! I can't wait to see the full film for myself. This may be one of the best sequels since . . . Simba's Pride IMO!

The only thing that seems to disturb me is the whole thing with Thumper and his sisters. I don't know why . . . . *shudder*
