It is proven that you can still live a healthy life without eating meat. There are plenty of alternatives chock-full of protein:

lentils
nuts
beans
peas
tofu

These are just a few of the many options. However, if you are growing, it is best to stick with meat. But when you are an adult, you can go vegan.

I'm a vegatarian too. ^^ Been one of a few years now.

I became one because one, I don't even like meat that much, two I don't like eating animals.

Just remember to eat plenty of lentils and nuts, vegatables and if you're not a vegan, eat fish too. You get used to not eating meat after a while.

Many reasons really, one was the moral reasons, which is that some of the ways animals are killed are truly horrible, I went away on holiday to the country and I saw first hand just how some animals are killed.

Also veal used to be my favrioute meat and when I found out just how badly they are treated, I feel ill every time I see veal. Its one thing to hear about how the animals are treated, but seeing it first hand is truly horrible.

And also to all those who think that if you become a vegitarian that I will die instantly. I am not too sure about that, its true if you do not eat properly as a vegitarian then you can become ill, but I doubt you can get a heart attack, in fact, fatty meats are more likely to give a heart attack.

Also make sure you eat eggs and dairy products, that'll do you a lot of good.

Eating meat is good for you.. I wouldnt take my chances on not eating meat and why wouldnt u eat meat? Not eating meat is stupid..Why bother?!?!?!?

That kind of comment is firstly not needed, also rather annoying. Firstly, some animals are treated so badly, and then get slaughtered so we are satisifed with having a nice big steak. Most chickens are kept in cages until they are killed for us to eat. Veal are little are babies (I think they are cows, cannot remember) who are then killed off so we can yet again feel satisifed, I cannot eat like that anymore, this is for advice, not for have a go at vegetarian...

I don't eat meat. Ummm... how is that "taking chances"?
It's not STUPID I don't for moral reasons, I won't eat an animal because they are living things with feelings and thoughts.
If anything I feel better since I stopped eating meat.

Well animals are there for us to eat.. Thats one of the reasons why they are here

Anyhoo, back to teh topic. I'm a very strong carnivore, and I crave meat xDDD And I have nothing against vegetarians. Although I don't see what you have so much againt 'killing animals' when eating fruit & veg is no different. While eaing them, you're still killing. Just because they don't have eyes or a heart doesn't mean they're not alive

What I consider a big difference is:
The plants are alive, but they don't have thoughts and feelings to the same degree that animals do.
So people say it doesn't matter... but it does to me...
I'm not saying it should to you...
I'm just explaining what the difference between eating Animals and plants..is to me.
