There's at least one positive thing about people stealing your art. It's confirmation that your art is so good that people want to copy it^^

Which doesn't do a thing for the artist if proper credit isn't given.

exactly. Point is proven.

D:< I swear, I'm chewing out the next person who steals one of my friends designs. It wasn't that long ago that my friend on dA found one of her pictures edited and reposted on Fanart-Central. And I also found one of my old friends pictures posted on Sheezy. I really get ticked when people steal the basic designs and poses

It's not even a little gratifying that people like your art well enough to wish to emulate it? :)

you're missing the point. The style and poses are ripped without giving credit to the ORIGINAL work!!

It's like if i stole a picture/pose from you to redistribute into something that I want. Would you like it very much if I used it without asking you first?? Or even giving credit where credit is deserved?

You people make no sense. How are you supposed to feel special when someone else is getting credit for something you did?

But hey. Look at it this way, say you just came up with a story that you've been wanting to publish your entire life. Say after years of blood, sweat, and tears, and effort were put into this story, you're so proud of it, that you want to show it to someone. Say no one you know is particularly interested, but this stranger you just met is. So you read it to him/her and he likes it and all that.

Then say after a few more years you finally decide to publish it. But then you notice there's a movie coming out and that it's EXACTLY like the story you just wrote (give or take a few details) and its directed by that same stranger you met. And wouldn't you know it? He didn't mention your name ANYWHERE at ANY time AND he says he made the entire story up himself.

Since this is a new movie, he's making THOUSANDS of dollars off this while no one is buying your book because they didn't read it before they saw that movie, so not only are you losing money, you're losing people's interest. How would that make you feel?
