-_- I seriously don't believe in that. Sure they can do their jobs, I understand but, to be killing them slowly, that isn't their job. If they are going to kill anything they should kill it with respect and do it quickly and painlessly.

Rosetta, that's a well-known urban legend. It's never happened outside the realm of myth and heresay. In Korea they do cook and eat domestic dogs, although I'm not sure about Japan. It wouldn't shock me if they did.

Ya but my stepdad said he traveled to Japan and saw it on a menu before, when he was stationed temporaily there. Also they used to skin Akitas for fur...and then eat the bodies so they "wouldn't go to waste" I am so considering being a vegetarian now. It would be better for gymnastics anyways.

Despite the fact that you all seem to believe that this is morally repugnant, what do you suggest these people do for work? This is, obviously, their job. That is what they do for money. What work would you like them to do instead?

Many whalers nowadays have turned from whale hunting to whale watching. It makes much more money without hurting them.

Ugh, I've heard this on YouTube and several other places. But you know, you are all hypocrites, every one of you! We raise chickens and pigs in foul conditions, feed them with random crap that makes them grow faster, then finally cut off their heads and fry them. And how is that different from killing dolphins? I am not suggesting all of us becoming vegetarians, just before you judge the Japanese, judge yourself.

It disturbs me how you judge a country by how it kills animals. And HrryNrmn is right. That IS infact, peoples' jobs we are talking about here. And if so many of them are being massacred, then imagine how many whale and dolphin-butcher-type-people there are? Do you expect them to get fired in an instant?

And besides, if it's something that's been established over time, then it will most probably take twice that time period to de-establish it. It's overseas in Japan, not really much we can do about it, can we?

OK. Stop calling a hypocrite. I hope you get banned if you keep being so darn rude. I mean heres fine evidence this wasn't the first:

We have opinions...it doesn't make us a hypocrite just because we disagree with this, I mean I KNOW we kill cattle here and all but this topic ISN'T about that. Its aqbout dolphins, not cattle. I feel bad about any slaughter but we actually kill some of our cattle and chicken using quick ways. These people just let the dolphins flop there until they were gone.
SO instead of labeling us a very DISRESPECTFUL name lets try to understand what we are thinking, rationally?

Fine evidence my behind! That's out of context and I'll have you know that person was infact being very rude-and I don't regret saying the above about them, because the person in question was a stubborn poster who wouldn't consider that I actually know the English language.

YES, the topic IS ABOUT DOLPHINS! So, maybe instead of JUDGING the Japanese, like some of the posters did, YOU CAN actually TALK about what is possible that we could do.

I am not being rude, I am stating the truth, infact, when I use the word "hypocrite" I am nearly always trying to prove some POINT that people can't get through there heads right away, at least some people. "Don't be blinded by the bloody obvious," my teacher always says.

I understand what you are thinking. So far, most of the posts have been:

Why hasn't anyone said:

Maybe we can start a petition against this?

Maybe you shouldn't insult the Japanese like I do you. Just a thought. Instead of pointing out my "rude words", why don't you discuss some of the valuable points I made, so this topic doesn't turn into a flame?

Sorry, I've gone off on a tangent. I have something relevant to say now.

We do kill our livestock in quick ways, but they way they are grown, fattened, in harsh, crowded conditions, is just pure inhumane. The Japanese at least aren't responsible for dolphins' agonizing day after day of torture-the killing process is relatively quick compared to the agony our livestock face.

I NEVER did and I never agreed with any sort of slaughter. If you READ my above post(way up the page) You would realize I find killing animals for food is offensive, but than again we are animals so its survival of the fittest at its finest. BaltoSeppala was not being rude. I read his comments and agreed with him. He is an adult and knows an awful lot about facts. It would be wise to RESPECT him. He was TRYING to respect you until you blew it out or porportion. Than he got offended by the fact you were saying reading books about things makes you an expert. Please TRY to be considerate of other peoples ways of thinking. As I had to learn, not everyone is gonna agree with you. Thats sorta the point of a post though. So please respect that.
Lastly I have nothing against Japanese. Do not excuse
me of such a thing!Alot of my friends are indeed of that race and I would never depise them. I made it QUITE CLEAR I disagree with the METHODS used to kill dolphins. Thats it. Please refrian from yelling anymore. I wont reply next time you do and I will indeed report your comments to a mod,
so please respect my opinions here! I am too yours too!

Yes, I know, most people find killing animals offensive. But we still do it, just for food, not for fun. I don't believe I said you agreed to slaughter. I agree BaltoSeppella had a good point in my use of the word "expert". I respected him before he started acting rude. When I said let's get back to the topic, the argument didn't stop.

I was NOT being rude. He said I used the word "expert" incorrectly, whereareas I provided evidence that I did indeed use it correctly. Then he said my example was a poor one for the sake of being correct. I never said "reading books makes you an expert". If I did, what I meant was it makes you a sort-of sub-expert. I was considerate, but he was the one who wouldn't just drop it. Because he may be older or have been here longer than me doesn't mean he is higher than me in every way, so can it.

I respect peoples' ideas. That does not mean I do not disagree with them. I fully read his posts, I made my best effort to udnerstand them, and as well asd I could understand, he was the one at fault, so there was an argument.

I did not mean you. I used "you" hypothetically (is that the right word?), referring to an imaginary person or the reader. I never said, "Rosetta, you hate the Japanese.". Lastly, I respect your opinions, Rosetta, but you are really starting to get on my nerves. If you had really respected my opinions you wouldn't be as rude, because I never directly insulted you.

I am not "yelling". I am expressively writing. When I DO THIS IT MEANS I am putting emphasis on that word. I doubt a mod would really side with you, or me with that matter. Reporting would get us both in trouble.

And now, PLEASE stop getting off topic! This is quite a controversial and interesting topic, so let's not lose it! And please don't roll your eyes at me.

P.S. I'm sick of everyone siding with BaltoSeppella. Sure he's a far more credible source, but does that mean he is ALWAYS right?[/quote]

I don't think I get the thrust of your argument Loup Cache. Could you perhaps be a little more concise? From what I gather you are saying that anyone who eats meat is somewhat of a hypocrite because of where the meat comes from. Pardon me if that isn't your argument, I'm having difficulty following you.

As to the judging of the Japanese, I don't think anyone on here criticized them for being Japanese or insinuated that Japanese people were bad. It remains a fact that the Japanese happen to be the ones doing this act and as such, they are the ones that animal rights activists will blame. It's not judging them, it's simply stating facts.

If I am getting on your nerves please do not reply back to me. Simple enough. I misunderstood you SORRY.No need to go start saying I am getting on your nerves. Next time to save us the problem lets not use the word hypocrite ok? It really is a rude form of language. Say something like " you all are forgetting that we kill cows and chicken too" instead of "YOU ALL ARE HYPOCRITES!"
Understand now?
and I agree lets stop arguing please. If you dont anyways I will/
