yea I reckon Aleu being the only wolf-like pup is a bit typical. It's generally a lot easier, but it would've made it a bit more interesting if all of them weren't identical to Jenna and one not. But I suppose that they had their reasons. I also think Aleu looks a bit weird on the DVD cover for WQ!

Ever watch other recent sequels with things like this? (Lady and the Tramp 2, for example) It seems obvious that if a couple of two different breeds (like Jenna(husky) and Balto(wolf-dog) for instance) has multiple children, at least one of them will look different. It's cartoon genetics!
I think the whole "Aleu looks more wolf than Balto" thing is bogus. She looks like a regular dog to me, just with wolfish coloring and more fur to show the "wolf" in her.
Yeah, the US DVD cover for Wolf Quest does make Aleu look weird. I like the European cover better. It's better proportioned between her and Balto (unlike the terribleness of the US cover, which makes Aleu look like a midget! Poor Aleu . .), but it's not as colorful as the US one.

actually I thought it was kind of annoying how they focused too much on Alue. I mean she being the focus of the story is cool, but I would've liked for 'em to talk more about the other five...I got tottaly confused on there names.

Agreed. Give 'em names and make them easy to recognize (ribbons or collars . . . or colored bandannas like Jenna! . . Sweet.) and such.

Besides, it was hard enough to try and see who was who in the first place (like the whole Dingo/ Saba incident . . . don't get me started on that again . . . Nick and AleuSource know what I mean!)!

Maybe that's the reason they gave white eyes to Balto instead of yellow, in WQ...

To me(in a way), Aleu's looks sort of remind me of the Tramp from Lady and the Tramp (or is it Balto's colors from WQ . . . he looked grayish and not brownish), but not quite. I still don't think she looks like a "wolf" but she already had the genes in her to be one (as do the rest of her husky-looking siblings).

I think I'm going to do a little test this weekend and use Photoshop to see what Balto would look like with yellow eyes in WQ . . . .

Presumably the allele for the wolf-appearance is recessive and non-codominant, so therefore only if... wait... it has to be codominant... then... according to mendel, Aleu looking that much like a wolf isn't possible unless it was a REALLY wierd litter... if it's recessive, then 1/4 of the pups look wolfish. fair enough. but it can only work if jenna has the allele for wolf-looking in her, which can't work... garr... the point is, the litter defies mendellian gentics. ^^

I agree they should make more wolf-pups.

No offence but seriously Aleu more of a wolf than Balto your go to be kidding when I watched the it was disturbing to see how everione admired Aleu when she was selfish remeber when she said to Balto I hate you! Balto shouldn't of gone after her.

She's still her daughter... I think you don't know how the children can be, sometimes. Especially teenagers.

Especially teenagers that are just discovering the truth about who they are (the whole "part-wolf" or "you look like a wolf and your siblings don't" type of thing).
I mean, could you blame her for running away like that? I mean, think about it: ever since she was born, she was the same as the other pups; she was a pup. She only looked different, that was all, but no one decided to tell her the truth (I don't think she even knew herself!) until she was in real danger a year later. (Balto's mistake right there. I fhe had told Aleu or even better, all of the pups, that they had wolf blood in them as well, things would have been different)

I still want to know whether Balto and Jenna tell the other pups about that.
