I'm just going on past experience. I went skiing the other day and well, the snow on the mountain side was really soft and powdery because everybody was swerving all over the mountain on it.

But when my brother fell off the T-bar and i had to save him, it was really a challenge because all of the ice between the trees and the T-bar path was iced up. No one skied there so I guess it had a chance to harden. Let me tell you, it was slippery as all hell.
