Imagine how much more drama doing that'd cause. XD I'd laugh just at the reactions of people.

Thats not what they would say. I know, for personal experiance at watching friends of someone who was banned. They say something like this:
"PLZ PLZ PLZZZZ UNBAN THEM! THEY DID NOT DO IT! THEY SAY THEY WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN!!!11 PLZ PLZ PPPLLLZZ!!!11!"
And then stupidly, a mod unbans that person, and they do it again. And again. And again.
I personally would find this an awesome thing, just to sit and kick around and laugh at. Seriously. If you get banned forever, obviously you did something stupid. I want to laugh at them.

Oh yes but they already do this when they find out anyways.I like the idea! It would save alot of us from people running into the shoutbox only to say "Did so and so get banned?" and see that question 20 times in a row. I hate that!!Just recently it happened when "blank" got banned. Most of you know who I am referring too and would probably agree it was annoying.....and whats worse I STILL here people asking about them at least once a week! T____T;; SOO i'd say maybe if we do end up using this idea to save us the headache of people asking why was she banned? Maybe set it up this way
JUST AN EXAMPLE(not referring to anyone):
Joe--->reason banned? For constantly cussing members out. How long? FOREVER.
Susie-->reason banned?Refused to cooperate with mods. How long?Four weeks if she is willing to cooperate.
^___^ I think that would be a good idea.Sure it may take some time to make and update but it would sure save us from flamewars and whiny butts asking these questions in the SB.....wel for the most part anyway....we always have some really noobish people who don't bother to look at information posted.....

That would be what would exactly happen but do not people already do that? even with out a hall of shame? when they find out their friends are banned? most of the old mods are my friends and i remember people fighting about things like this and continue on untill they are banned. im not sure if they would be banned for this but if they continued untill they did some thing against the rules.

When I thought up this idea I was thinking about only permanently banned people on the wall of shame, but I guess non-permanent bans could work.
This could possibly deplete the questions asking who's banned and for what. Instead of answering with detail, they could just direct the questioner to the wall of shame, where all the details where there.
The hardest part would probably be setting it up, afterwards the mod could place the name of someone who's banned, the reason, and for how long.
Of course, nothing's set in stone, so I guess there can be some defiations.

Quote: 1.- You might say "so-and-so did whatever", and then it gives other people the idea.
Perhaps...but, I'm sure it would also tell them that they can't get away with that or something... Quote: 2.- Like Cat said, peoples are gonna be like "oh no thats my friend being banned UNBAN THEM!!!" or something, though they say it anyways...XD
Like you said, they do that anyways. Quote: 3.- If the people somehow get unbanned, they might get mad at their name being up there...
Of course, if they're unbanned, then they would be taken off the list... Quote: 4.- uhhh well... people might get "scared" of this place, like "oh noes my art will get stolen *leaves forevaz*" or something....like that... with all those n00bs(no not newbies, st00pid rule-disobeyers) out there it's enough to get me scared...XD they steal even before they're ON this site sometimes. If you accuse them of stealing they go "no u stole off me!" or "no no no i just printed it out and redrew it!!" uhh never mind...
Uhh...I'm sure this one topic wouldn't scare away everyone, though if you're banned you can't really look at the fanart, just the banned box. And other sites have used this, and I don't see those sites going into mass panic because of a Wall of Shame...(and there's other crimes on here than stealing art, just saying)

Actually I think this idea is kinda cool, some people who have been banned forever go to other sites and say things like, " I did'nt do it, they just hate me, it was for no reason, they got it wrong" and it's kinda annoying coz they did do something and new members just go and do the same things just to see if you do get banned.
Not only that but it'd be more of an insentive for people not to do things that'll get 'em banned for life if they know that they'll be put on a wall of shame because of what they did and in doing that it'll reduce bad things on the site.

Well, I have a a few problems with this idea. First off, as Steet said before, the friends of the people who were banned would start mailing the moderators, and begging them to take their friend off, or flaming the mods because this person didn't do that, and so on.
Second of all, someone would see the Wall of Shame as a challenge. What I mean by this, is that a person would see a member that was banned, and might want to do something worse than whatever the other person was banned for, and break the record. Believe it or not, people do this, and they brag about it. I mean, really, brag about it.
And lastly, not all people would change their ways after see their name up on the list. They might act as if they've learned their lesson, then maybe a few weeks or days later, the person might break another rule, or the same rule.
Please, Martinthewarrior, don't take offense from this post, it was only meant as my opinion.

And why would I take offense from this post? I don't mind if you don't like the idea, I never said you had to .
Though I guess there are pros and cons to this wall of shame.

I like it for the most part but there are some cons..
1. Some people might want to keep the reason for their banning a secret, for example I don't think I would want everybody to know if I was posting sexual stuff on the shout box..
2. People would complain, saying stuff like "THAT'S NOT EVEN WHY I WAS BANNED" or "TAKE MY NAME OFF THERE NOW!!!"
and 3. Like Desirae said, they might think it's a contest.
