Good. Because its a horrid idea. Do you know how much SPAM is put into the shout boxes? A lot.

And technically thats not POSTS. Its like talking in an Instant Messenger. Our points are earned for being active on the site. Not in its shout boxes.

Well this is the aim of the shout boxes...Unlike the forums.

We DONT get points for talking to people on IM's, HENCE there is NO point in getting them for CHATTING on the Shout Boxes!!! THAT WAS MY POINT! And you keep missing it! >.<

You dont NEED points for talking to your FRIENDS.

And I still don't understand what you mean. Chatting on the shout boxes does not give any member points and does not increase your number of posts.

Well, people are free to speak where they want. The shout boxes are different from IMs in the fact that you can speak with groups of people, including people you don't know. With the IMs, you speak only with one person most of the time, or else you need to invite people which is not very practical.

I prefer not to post in the forums, but since I don't have enough to get in the VIP box once I'm unbanned, I will, even though I think it should be lowered.



And what's up with you? There should be a VIP box, since the older members can go there without being disturbed by n00bies, and they can rp there with each other instead of those n00bies who keep butting in.

Oh really?? I think the correct question would be "What's up with you RayJ?" . What defines a VIP? Anyway, age on the site? Hmm..no, I've seen some older members who are as annoying as the stereotypical SMS spooting "n00bs" that you speak of, yet I've seen some "n00bs" (actually most of them are) who aren't so annoying. You cannot label someone who may be new member as immature, just as you can't label someone who's an old member as mature. I'm sure I could get into a whole big heated argument with you, RayJ, but you know what? I have more important things to do.

What I am getting at is that when your on the shoutbox it very much IS like talking in an instant messenger. No, its not EXACTLY the same. But it is. You talk to people because you want too. Its not really benifiting the site by talking there (well, in the VIP it might, because like you can never get a conversation going in there. XD)... Just because you can sit and chat on the shout box for an hour, doesnot mean you should get points for it.

And what I have seen people say, is that they'd LIKE to have those count as points or something.

Anyways, I also believe that post count is irrelevant as to being elder. I mean, I've posted over 1000 posts on the forums and site. And I've worked hard to get those. Some people just sign up on the site to use the boxes. Which I think is kinda stupid. If yer gonna take the time to talk on the shoutboxes, post on the site while yer at it.

I think Steet should get rid of the post count like he said he was. Because spamming is easy. ;]
