Rebel, when it comes to film quality, I simply must say your judgement is clouded. The first one's animation was much more realistic, the backgrounds were awesome, and the music really touches me. The lighting in the first one was also very imaginative, and the first one also had a waaaaaaaaaaaaay better effort. You know what, to prove my point, I'm bringing the whole Bambi section in the Bambi forum here.

Hmmmm. I'm entitled to my own opinion
Maybe the 1st one's animation is more 'realistic' ect. ect. But I don't really care about how realistic the animation looks. I mean...Balto 1's animation isn't realistic, yet it's still my favourite animated movie ever
Sorry to go off topic
Back on topic, I just much prefer Bambi 2's animation. I really don't know why. I love sparkly animation in films, and the animation in Bambi 2 is very sparkly and smooth, making the film very beautiful
I love computer animation. Apart from in Balto 2... *shudders* ... XD

While I love Bambi's animation - It is Bambi 2 that it so much better.
Bambi 1: The backgrounds are just too amazing for words. Such a master, so calm and relaxing, though it isn't as 'clean', or as 'smooth' as Bambi 2's animation. Though, I love how it has the 'classic' look if you know what I mean. You know, great background, though the backgrounds are what is really the best. If it weren't for the backgrounds, then I would have to give the animation a fair rating, other than a good. Though, I seen worse, and this is far from poor. And, it's a pretty old movie, but it's the backgrounds what give the look a master look, and makes the animation look better. BUT it just looks just.. well, dark. I don't know.. Dull maybe? The way that Bambi and his friends are. Well, the background is what makes the animation look okay.
Bambi 2: More more clean, smooth, and just great. It's amazing, I love love the backgrounds, and the movie itself is great - Not as good as Bambi, but the animation is much more better. There isn't much to say, since words are just not enough for this great animation. Bright, Sparkly, and such. I love Balto's animation, and would hate for Balto's animation to look like this, but it fits Bambi much more.

Well, pretty is as pretty does. While Bambi "2" has smoother animation, it can't even compare to the original as far as entertainment and dialogue goes. I put Bambi "2" on for a church preschool class one day, and I'd say 2 out of 11 of those kids actually paid attention to it, the whole time it played. One of them actually asked me to put on the original Bambi. So there you go, disney should listen to the kids, because if you can't even get at least 5 out of a whole class to watch their stuff, something's wrong.

Yeah, a similar thing happened to me. I showed a neighborhood kid the first Bambi. He liked it. He didn't care about Bambi 2.
About the animation: Animation was HARD back then. No computers to assist it. In the original Bambi they CONSTANTLY studied deer to get it perfect, and when I pause the screen it's so accurate I could scream. Bambi 2 also seemed a lot more close-up than the original. Bambi didn't even look cute in Bambi 2. He had a big head.

Yeah, he looked soo....I don't know, modern. There was something about him in Bambi "2" that made him unappealing. Well, as for the church class, that's one of the reasons why I say the things I say about disney midquels.

Bambi looked fine to me in part two. O.o;
And I love the music in part two way more than the first.
And that female deer(Forgot her name.) is less annoying in part two. xP. And shows more of her.
I love Bambi. It made me cry, but I think I might like Bambi 2 a tad more. I don't know. I like them both so much, and Bambi 2 is really what a midquel should be.

The songs were awful, awful, and I wasn't the only one to think so. No Disney Midquel is good.

I hate "The First Sign of Spring". It sounds like bad pop music. The score in Bambi was GENIUS! The music described emotion AND action perfectly. And the songs were gorgeous and poetic.

Hey it's ME TOO! Like Olivia says, it sounded like really bad pop music.
