My dog's a mutt too, and I love her also. <3 XD

There was one person - on a classified pet website that I go on - that was selling "Purebred Cockapoos." They said they they were purebred but had no paper and they were going for $600 dollars. I hope nobody goes for that because it's just plain stupid..

For some people thats how they get money. It's not bad for a German Shepherd to have pure bred puppies then to sell them for $700. Dogs are like horses where value can be determined by the papers of the mother and father. Most people buy dogs of that amount for dog shows.

And any way dont we have the dogs today because we cross bred them with other dogs?

Even for a pure bred German shepherd Dog for 700 is a joke, UNLESS it has showing parents - shots - and maybe papers.

I HATE.HATE.HATE when people just breed their dog, simply because its a "pure bred." -_- I mean, first - search up breeding and read all the risks, and don't breed just because you want part of your dog. REAL good breeders breed for BETTER the dog, not because they want part of their dog, or money or because their dog is a pure bred.. . -________-;;;

Ok, I hate the idea of show dogs. Most show handlers only care for the money and pride rather than the well-being of their dogs as actual dogs. However, it is nice to see a purely bred dog.

Once the idea of having cockerdoodles or whatever dies out they'll just be even more crossbreeds stuck in kennels. People like purebreds. They don't like crossbreeds. That's the general public. But I mean, for those husky fanatics out there, would you prefer a purebred Siberian Husky with papers that show his father was a famous sled dog... or a german shepherd / cattle dog / husky cross that doesn't look remotely like a husky.

I know it sounds snobby... but that's my opinion.

Yes. As usual the world revolves around money. To people, it's all that matters. Not everyone though, just most people.

That's a little strange for a litter of mutts I've seen pure-blood german shepherd pups for that price. Sounds like a rip-off...

Because that's people's jobs. It costs money to have puppies. And yes Dog prices very I've seen dogs for $1500, dogs not puppies.

Still, that's a rip off for a litter of cross-bred puppies. They should have been sold for like 30 to 60 dollars, or given away. I know someone that used to breed german shepherds, and as far as I've learned from him, you don't charge 200 dollars for a litter of mutts

Most of it depends on the parents, but I dont know they could just be breeding dogs to sell. Most dog breeders do not do that, they join clubs that over see the process so people are doing a good job and have the right papers.

Oh yeah, I hate it when those show breeders breed their dogs just for the money. Again, they probably don't care who the puppy goes to so long as they get the money. They don't seem to realize that not getting thier dog or bitch neutered is one of the worst things they can do. There are too many dogs in the world and not enough willing owners.

Charging that much for a crossbreed is criminal...

That's not much for a Shepherd actually, wolfgurly, my aunt paid £400 (that's about $700) each for her two purebred German Shepherd puppies and she ended up DONATING them to the Police.

That's a nice thing to do, if I had the money I would do that too, there's only about 1 or 2 police dogs here.. that I know of. XD

I looked in the newspaper today and there's PUREBRED siberian huskies for $125 dollars, and those people are selling those mixed breeds for more? Pathetic...

I love mutts also, if I could keep them all I would, but unfortunatly, my house isn't big enough and the limit is 4 dogs. XD

These people probably couldn't afford to spay or neuter their dogs and this litter was probably an accident, so they just decided 'why not make money off them?!' and I bet they're not using the money to get their dogs fixed...
