I have just seen it.
I can say it is just amaizing, and a true masterpiece. I almost cried a few times.
The start is breathtaking. All the troops fighting, Stuka dive planes killing the ships. Loved the Heinkels, and all the big troops that were fighting. At the begining of the movie I stayed amaized watching the massive fightings.
After the first part when you could see the shoking scenes of a war, it started to become very controversial, and much more restrain. A couple of characters from witch most of it was about the snipers in Stalingrad.
Most of it I didn't understood about comisar Danilov. He hated Vassily because he loved Tania, so the friendship quite broked apart. Then from what I understood he wanted Vassily dead and hoped the major would kill him (cut the picture with him and Vassily). Then when he saw Tania and Vassily togheter he started a story about the downfall of Vasily for the belife in communism. Then when he helped Tanya mother and her, and Tanya got very wonded, he returned to Vassily and told him that she was killed when she wanted to return to him after her mother got into the boats, but actualy she was wonded even before they reach the boats. And then he volunteered to die so Vassily can see where the major is hiding... I realy didn't understood very good this.
Probabely somebody would like to enlight me?
Also what I loved was that unlike many lame movies in witch there is no epilog. The movie just suddenly ends, this told what happened later. 2 months later to be more exactely. Besides this and the Lords of the Ring I don't remember any movie in witch there is a epilog (I know there are more that have one)
For me it is an excelent movie and the best WWII movie I'v ever seen until now. I'v seen many presentations about WWII and Germany-Russia war on Discovery, mainly in Battlefield documentary.
I liked it also because it is near to truth. I didn't knew that the russians generals and high commanders were treating theyr own soldiers so badly (die by our guns or germans guns). But I knew that germans were treating the friendlys very good. This I know from some storys in witch Romanians soldiers when fighted along Germany were treated very good, and both germans and romanians were laughting and discussing much when they didn't fighted. Unlike communists idiots that when they camed, they destroyed everything. But that is another history story, witch dosen't relate to the movie.
About the acting. I think it was great. Amaizing how they created such an aggressive movie but yet reflecting at best the reality. I realy enjoyed the effects looking at it and seeing how the WWII have been as a big idea.
I didn't knew it was based on a true story. So at the end I standed shoked when I readed the end presentation about Vassili being realy promoted as a national hero.
Also the music background sounds quite as Balto background sometimes. (Hertinage of the wolf and not only). So I smiled a little everytime the background played, thinking about the Balto soundtracks.
At a final I am very happy I'v seen it and this throught this forum.
Thanks
P.S. I'm sleepy, just seen the movie and it's 02:24, so I am sory for any mistakes or ideas that dosen't realy link.
