There's a very nice button in these cases, named "report to a moderator", it's next to the "quote" button. Moderators aren't gods, and if you don't report the useless messages (such as double posts) what can we do? First you rant, but why don't you try to do something now?

We could do that, but I don't think the mods would like 50-hundred PM's about someone double posting.

Well I don't think there would so many PMs. And also, mods are made for this, right? :D

True. lol, Next time I see someone doing that, I will report it, but most of the time it's not that bad. XD

again, the reason people do this is because of two things; they are both stupid and trying to be annoying.

Listen, why not pretend to be intelligent and annoying somewhere else. We don't want your crap here.

Uh, was that comment directed to me, or the peple who do that? Because your post is confusing to me, no offense.

No, I didn't direct it at you. It was a general comment.

But why would I target you anyway? I don't even know you.

man, I hate double posting, and since there's an EDIT button for adding in extra stuff you forgot, you don't need to 2x post.

Their is a very simple resolution to double posting, just delete your double post! That is what the delete button is for, I don't even fret about double posts. When I see them I simply delete one of the doubles so their is one left.

You are so very right, Drew! That solution of deleting previous posts seems so easy . . . especially for you to do, of course, since you are one of the "mod gods". (Heh, that has a catchy ring to it . . . it makes sense, so I hope you don't take it personally, okay?)

I mean, I double post sometimes . . . only when most necessary:
- Long fic update (because double posting is okay if you are doing it progressively in your own fic topic(s) of course.)

At other times when I double post (other than for the above reason), I always make sure to apologize for double posting first. You gotta be polite on these forums, you know! I do try to edit most of the time, but sometimes I feel that it is necessary to double post, as long as it's not constantly all of the time.

But that's just me anyways.

I don't know if it's only for me, but if I double post by accident, I can only delete it if nobody posts after me, so I would have to realize it right away..XD

I don't usually double post anyways, so..

I don't have a very big problem with double posting. It's double posting the double posting of the double posting of a message.

....

Okay, let me rephrase that. The quintuple kagillion posting. One message is enough, members don't need to read three pages worth of the same information.

Now, I don't think you guys realize what I'm talking about when I say double-posting. I don't mean the accidental slip of the mouse, and you post the same thing twice. I'm talking about one post after another with different information.

Now, I see Juuchan's point about a long fic update, but I mean it's just a short quick message, when all the person has to do is edit their post. Now, I know mods can edit and delete members' posts, but sometimes, if left ignored by a mod, or the person who typed the post, it just "wastes space" hence the title of my thread.

I hope I've made this a bit clearer, PM Me or post on here if you have any questions regarding to what I said.

I think, in some cases, more than one post by the same member, consecutively, is not a bad thing. So long as doing so provides RELEVANT and helpful information, and might break up an otherwise LOOOONG post.

Otherwise, yes...it certainly is a waste.
