I PREFER Wings of Change. I think it is far more historically-sound, is animated and drawn better, and has much better plot lines. Wolf Quest is all that Native American mysticism. And yet, I don't HATE Wolf Quest, the way some people do, and I certainly don't think Wings of Change was "boring".
I also don't dislike the art style in either. However, in my perfect sequel, for voice talent, I'd say it's a mixed bag. I liked some of the voice talent in the sequels better. And some of it I hated. For example, I think the BIGGEST loss to the character voice talent pool was Bob Hoskins (who voiced Boris in Balto 1). However...my line-up, voice-talent-wise (for the recurring characters), would have been (of those who voiced characters in the three movies):
BALTO: Maurice LaMarche (I will always believe HE did a better job than Kevin Bacon...that it has more range of emotion and character than Kevin Bacon, whom I've often referred to as being little better than Kevin Costner when it comes to voice-overs in cartoons)
JENNA: Bridget Fonda (I think her voice had more dynamics and range than Jodi Benson's)
BORIS: Definitely Bob Hoskins. While Charles Fleischer is the more experienced when it comes to doing cartoon voice-over work, he just didn't bring enough "Russian" character to Boris' voice...and yet, British actor Bob Hoskins surely did)
MUK & LUK: Actually, I discerned very little difference between Phil Collins' performance in Balto 1, and Kevin Schon (who voiced them in Balto 2 and 3).
I think the other actors and actresses, who voiced the many other characters, were just fine as they were. Sorry...I know the voice thing is a little off-topic, but it is part of the logic behind my preferences...as it is for many others.

Kodi was NOT selfish and a little brat, unlike Aleu, who shouts at her father and telling em how she hated him, and she gave so much unrespect. She runs away, and plus, the only time she gives him respect was the end, when she was going away. Kodi was mad at Balto, because Balto wanted to help the "Bad guy", but at the end, he went helping Balto. =P
But yeah..

Kodi??? A brat??? He was just angry with his dad for the reason BWD posted! Alue was a huge brat, who showed so much hate and disrespect, a BAD message to kids!
BaltoSeppela: heh. I prefer Maurice LaMarche's voice tp Kevin Bacon's aswell. Kevin Bacon's is too... 'deep' ...

I think that's kind of right. Kodi followed what everyone else wanted him to do like a helpless little puppy, instead of being rebelious like his father.
It's hard for me to decide whether I like WQ, or WoC... Yes the animation in the third was more like the first, but the storyline was more boring.
I also agree with BWD on the fact that balto was more tame in the third then in the first. In the secound he wasn't quite connected with the town enough, he had more troubles on the journey to find Alue.
Wow I have never had such a hard choice before... the main reason I liked the second one was because it revealed more of the wolf heritage and stood with that. The main reason I like the third movie was because the animation was more like the first. I still think the story line stunk though...
Alue was rebelious and disrespetful because she was like her father! Not to put a tag on balto or anything, but no one of knows what he acted like when he was younger!
By the way, I don't like Maurice LaMarche's voice at all. I thought that Kevin Bacon actually did a good job!

Well, I did like both movies. Wolf Quest gave you a fair insight on the wolf side of Balto whilst WoC stuck with the sledding and the town of Nome. So, I suppose they were both necessary movies.

Really? Then why did she shout "I hate you!" and run off?
And all she says to him is; "You're useless" and "I'm not your baby anymore"
The only nice thing she says to him in the whole film is "Okay...so I'll always be your baby" *nuzzles him*

I never said I was perfect! Good God NO! If anything, I'm as imperfect as you can get
Okay okay. We do get mad like that with our parents But I'm very devoted to Balto, and if anyone says they hate him, I hate them more!
But I still don't know why she hated him just because he was part wolf. Usually teenagers hate their parents because they're being un-fair. ALue isn't even a teenager for reasons I've already pointed out in the 'Alue and her wolf hate?' topic. 1 month is the age for a young pup
Alue is also very disrespectful towards the White Wolf - "oh great, my Grandmother was a wild animal. Did the wolf teach you when a human wants to kill you?"
