"Then get stronger," said Empoleon, rather calmly. "No one starts out strong, they've got to train until they get strong," he said. "That's what you need to learn," he explained. "Think the moment I arrived here I was ready to fight Primal Dialga or Darkrai?" he asked. "No, I wasn't, I had to work my tail off to get that strong," he continued. "My point is we all get beat sometimes, but how you react to it is what important," he explained. "Maybe it's a good thing you got your pride shaken, it shows you you're not invincible and if you want to get strong, you've got a long way to go. But you can get that strong."

Empoleon looked Buizel in the eye. "I know exactly how you feel," he said, sitting down next to him. "When me and Infernape, at the time a Chimchar, woke up in the paralyzed future and discovered it was our fault Grovyle failed to save it and that Dusknoir was the real bad guy...I felt exactly like you do now," he explained. "Hopeless, wondering why me...but then I realized something, I found something that let me move on...something you have too," he continued. "I had friends and my partner relying on me. Without me, they'd all suffer and probably die. When I realized that, I knew giving up simply wasn't an option and I had to get stronger," he said, looking Buizel in the eye. "You've got Glameow and Riolu, all your friends who need you," he explained. "You could give up and leave them to die...or you could use the fact they're relying on your to save them to push yourself to find the strength you need," he explained. "You're stronger than I am when I first got here, that should tell you how far I had to come in order to save the world. If I can do it, you can."

"That's where you're wrong," said Empoleon. "You'll need your team to stop him. Every human that's saved this world has needed their partner. I needed my partner, and my predecessor needed his," he said. "You'll need yours, trust me," he continued. "Anyway, may I suggest something? When you fought Team Skull at the tournament, tae your weights off right before the match and use your full, unrestrained power and speed to take them off guard."

"Alright," said Empoleon, though he highly doubted it. "Anyway, what you and the team need to learn with Team Skull is to adapt to how they fight," he explained. "They fight underhanded, so you've got to adapt, don't let them take you off guard," he said. "How did Skuntank beat you last time?"

"Alright, fine," said Empoleon. "Because don't expect it again," he said. "If it looks like he's doing that, he's doing something completely different."

"Sorry," said Empoleon. "Just you weren't exaclt being respectful of me at the moment, were you?" he asked. "I see, well next time, if you see his Substitute break, be ready for anything."

Empoleon nodded. "Sure, on one condition," he said. "You won't go into another depression if I beat you, ok? I'll be happy if you beat me."

"Don't forget, Buizel, I'm a lot more experienced than you are," said Buizel. "But if nothing else, try to learn from it, ok?"
