Sauda got to the other side of the hole and bent down to drink. She lapped the icy water, trying to hide her self-consciousness that Alonzo might be looking at her.

She nodded. "Let's check out that side, where the herds gather." She lifted her head and tasted the air. There was no scent of any disturbance. Apart from Alonzo's sweet scent, the scent of the predators gathering at their rightful place, the herds crossing at their place, nothing was wrong.

"Sure." she said. "I'm hungry. Why don't we hunt a bit?"

They both followed their ordinary plan and soon got down an antelope together. Sauda dragged it into the shade of a tree and they both tore into the flesh.

"Pretty tense." she said. "He hasn't been talking to me much since I got to know you."

"NO." she said. "Chaka has to learn to trust. The problem with him is, he doesn't trust anyone who desn't come from the Pridelands."

"Just because he's my brother, doesn't mean I have to listen to him." she snorted. "Anyway, he's younger than me. What right does he have to question me like that?"

Sauda pushed aside the bones of the carcass and buried it in the sand. "I think we should go back."
